color story photo assignment ~ for the love of "red"

you may already know i am part of the c and c photography course.
camilla and carolyn have joined together to share their talents with so many.
i deeply admire their generous hearts and incredible talent.

so when carolyn posted this week's photo assignment, requesting a color study.
i just had to pick red.

i love red... all shades of it....

it's even the color of our old 2 story house gables....

.....

it's my go to color when i paint.

it's the color of my deeply loved brayer.

it comes in many shades... all so lovely.

it's the color of our broom.:)
here's my sweet hubby, working hard.

he worked so hard, he needed to make some lunch.
kind of a sad shade of green on the romaine.... :)
but it's the color of tomatoes... i can not wait til they are garden fresh.
sigh....

as i mentioned our house gables are red.

it's the color of my favorite berry wreath hanging on the old entrance door.

i use it over and over when i paint.

and i do believe if i closed my eyes... and imagined a color...
even before the vision was clear...the color would be RED.

it's my favorite color in nature.
i adore red willow. "happy sigh"

i ♥ red.

.....

thanks so much carolyn and camilla.
i am truly enjoying this course.
i love checking out all the assignments  that my classmates are posting.
i love seeing all the different ideas and perspectives.

happy saturday to all.....

xxo, kim

Your reds are so pretty, I like your apple diptych especially. And your red willows, of course. Your house is lovely, lots of character, I love old houses (having one myself).

Lovely photos, as always and lovely red...red was my post a few days ago in my color series, I had a lot of fun with that one!

mmm, i am with u on the red love. your story is fun, and i can feel your love in it. the apples on the book for some reason really get me. it's so classic, yet so real. the red is so natural. your assignment made me feel that, just how natural red is. altho it is my favorite color, too, it is so refreshing to see it through another's eyes. thanks.

Luscious red paint in the second shot - beauty! The apple on the old books - gorgeous photo! Also love the gables, the muted red, earthy tone. The berry wreath is gorgeous and so is the 'old toys' sign! You have so much 'vintage stuff' around - LOVE that! So inspiring!

Viewing all the photos, and reading about them was like a story I did not want to end. Beautiful photos and shades of red.

Loving your story Kim...looks like a best seller, especially with red.
Your house is so special, growing up in Scandinavia that is what I remeber so much, the tradtional colorscheme, red with white trim.
I love your closeups...and the dippy. I bet this was not even a challenge for you ms. "paint diva"-clever with the tubes of paint.
Love work Kim.
