Why Textures Truly are THE BOMB

Hey there my friends,

Happy Thursday… flippity flip… on Earth is it Thursday?

So, today I was just marvelling over how in LOVE I am with textures.  Textures have truly transformed my life.  Actually… I should edit that… textures and photoshop…have truly transformed my life!

Okay does that seem a little extreme?   Are you thinking….’this girls in need of a support group?’  :)  I’m quite certain I am not alone with my addiction!! ‘sigh’ Am I?

Do share if you too are in LOVE with textures & Photoshop below in the comments.  I’d love to hear from you!

Anyhow, I have three images to share…and …I thought I would let the ‘mouse-overs’ speak for themselves.

Here’s a few favs….both new and old….

just sayin’…. textures are the BOMB!

‘Autumn Leaves’ – our catoneaster hedge…love the contrast of the green and red…. and the beautiful berries…and the spiders web is pretty cool.  I used Tuesday’s texture – paper script II on this image.

‘Peace’ –I  adore what my Beatles inspired texture - ‘all my lovin’ - does to this image!! Seriously LOVE.  I think this may be one of my fav images… there’s just something about it.  ‘sigh’

‘The Road’ – I love the transformation of this image.  It’s a pretty amazing before and after!  Wow.      I used my texture ‘branded’ on this one.

Okay, I could go on and on…

Yes, it does take a little more than just adding a texture to the image.  That’s what my upcoming photoshop cookbook is all about.  I am sharing the ‘ingredients’ to making fabulous textured images.  Click HERE for the cookbook details.  My list members will be receiving a special pre-launch offering of the cookbook and all the extra goodness that will be available with it.  So if you are interested….  you can sign up for my list HERE.

I’m signing off.  I must get back to work in the test kitchen’. :) I’m also working on Friday's freebie texture.  Be sure to come back sweet friends!

Oh and my goodness…do pop over to the i-studio and have a listen to Jamie’s playlist.  It’s truly fantastic!!

Back soon … xxo,

I'm falling in love with textures thanks to you. I can't believe I only started learning to use them a few weeks ago. They can completely transform a hohum photo into a piece of art.

Thanks so much for "Freebie Fridays". I'm having lots of fun playing with the textures while I wait for news on your Cookbook! Can't wait to see what it's about (i;m new to your site).

I'm hooked on textures already and I'm just learning! I may never be able to look at a 'regular' photo again. This turns them into works of art!

Thanks again for sharing!

Kim, I really like the tree transformation. I'm sure I would have driven right past that shot! You have a great eye. Thanks for all the freebie textures. I get lots of compliments so I just want to pass them on to you. Thanks!

i just wanted to say that if you're forming a support group for photoshop and texture love, then sign me up! i'll bring the cookies and kool-aid to the next meeting. i've been introduced to layering with textures pretty recently and it was definitely love at first sight. i'm a freelance photographer by profession, and it's been so great to see my clients and prospective clients responding so well to my new textured work. i'm still just learning about the whole process, but i'm so happy to find your blog and i'm excited to learn whatever i can pick up. thanks for all the tips and tricks and for passing on the texture love and not keeping it all to yourself. i know there's a lot of people that really appreciate it. keep up the great work!
