« Texture Tuesday - and a little Recipe Sharing | Main | I'm lovin... a list of inspiration »

A Matter of Focus

Hello my friends!

Happiest Saturday to you!

Today I wanted to share a little focus inspiration with you all.

I had a lot of fun with this shoot.

It started with the journals... i had them sitting on the chair. I walked by and they called to me! So I moved this sweet little treasured chair in front of our dining room window and decided to play.

I took several shots, focusing on the chair, rather than the journals.

(I was standing on a chair looking down on the subject it was mid afternoon...nice light streaming in.)

Here's one of the first shots before the daisies entered the 'picture'.

Enter sweet daisies...focusing on the daisies....

and another - focusing on the top scallop of the chair.

Anyhow, I encourage you to play with focus and your point of view as well.

I do have a texture for you all. Yeppers...I have not forgotten.

I call this little sweetie, WarmSun.

I'd like to try something new this week!  Are you up for it?

I invite you to pop back on Tuesday to share your best textured photo. I will include a little linky loo thingy... I think?  i haven't used one in squarespace, but I'm sure it'll work just fine.

I'd love for you to link up to your current fav ... textured photo.  You can use any of my textures this time around.  If the idea catches on, maybe we can add a theme or perhaps a challenge to use just one texture in particular now and then.....

So, what do you say... are you in?  :)

I ask that you note the name of the texture in your post, whether you share it on your blog, flickr or facebook.

I will have more details up on Tuesday when you come back to link up to the Texture Tuesday post.  Yay! Our own little texture sharing party.....

Al right.. that about covers it!  Texture Lovin' Listers - your texture download link is on it's way.  If you are not on my list, feel free to sign up HERE.

Here's to a fabulous weekend.... See you next week!

p.s. Registration for the Essentials eCourse is open. Sign up before the end of the month and save $10.00. Get the details HERE.

p.p.s. I'm considering running my texture class again -  Art of Texture - the Secrets Revealed. I have had several email requests about it. If you are at all interested, let me know in the comments.  Thanks guys....

Thanks for another fabulous texture! I really love this one, but then I think I say that each time a new one arrives in my inbox. :) As a current participant in the Skinny Mini course, I would love to have the opportunity to take the Art of Texture class. The description alone of the class sounds exciting, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get enough comments on this post to offer it again. You can definitely count me in, though, if that helps!

Best wishes,

Hey Kim....
I only have CS3. Is this course still possible to take or are the two programs too different for it to work for me? Am very interested, but don't want to sign up for something that won't work for the program I have. Thank you.

Thanks for the beautiful texture, Kim!

Texture Tuesday sounds like fun!!! Aside from the fact that I learned so incredibly much from your Skinny-Mini and Essentials courses, being able to connect with so many kindred spirits through the Flickr groups made the classes so personal, even though they are online!

Hi Kim, this is a beautiful texture (as always!) and I can't wait to find the right photo to try it on! I love your work, thank you for sharing it with us :)

Thanks, Kim, for another great texture. I took your Skinny Mini Course and I am now in the March Essentials class. Your classes are great. Even though I have worked in both Photoshop CS and Elements for a couple of years, I am learning some additional techniques from you. I would be very interested in your Texture class if you choose to run it again. And thanks for your generosity with your textures and ideas and for your well thought out classes..

I would really love to take your art of texture class and participate in Texture Tuesday. I'm currently taking your Skinny-Mini e-Course and have already stretched myself a little bit futher and created my first ever texture from a photo I took of a Cotswold Stone wall. The Art of Texture course sounds really exciting - it's coldn't come at a better time for me either :-)

The skinny mini and photoshop essentials courses have been and are a huge. exciting learning curve. The textures course was the one that really caught my eye, and I thought it would be better to do the others first so that I would have a platform from which to go forward. I am so pleased that you are considering running the textures once more.
March 27, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAnn.UK
Thank you for the inspiration and the texture Kim, and I love the idea of Texture Tuesday.
Do you want us to use the weekly texture, is that it, or just any of our favorites?

Been taking so many photos inside this weekend because it is so bright and sunny, and my hubby brought me flowers. I love testing myself with the focusing too, great shots today :)

Beautiful texture! I love the photo with the focus on the scallop of the chair. The contrast between that and the fuzzy white daisies is quite lovely.
