A Weekend Texture & Give Away Winners Announced

Texture Tuesday Update...oh and another give away....keep reading.

Hello lovelies.....

More tea..... as you can see...
I'm on a bit of a roll..... perhaps you've noticed.... 'smile'.
I'm working on a little project ... having loads of creative fun.....feeling really inspired, and for that I'm so grateful.

I must be quick... lots happening around here.
Oh I have a story to share...soon....I have to bite my tongue for a little longer.... Can't wait to spill the beans!

Okie doke, I'm popping in with a new texture for you to try... I call this little gem '1301'.

Take a peek.

I used it on the photo below.... along with a layer of last week's 'return'. Good stuff.

Recipe Rundown
I processed the photo in Lightroom...(Round Trippers, remember the Lightroom develop preset for the sky image we made in class? ... well, I used it on this photo) then I moved into photoshop.....  added one layer of today's 1301 at multiply 44% and one layer of return at soft light 77%. Finally the quote, with a fav font.... Rough Typewriter.

Like textures? Be sure to sign up for my texture lovin' list and begin receiving your freebies immediately. Click HERE to get on the list.

Okie doke...before I announce Friday's give away winners, let's talk this Tuesday's Texture Tuesday theme! Woo hoo. It's back.

TT Schedule Update: I will now be publishing the Texture Tuesday links on Tuesday mornings at approximately 9:00 am CST, rather than Tuesday at 12:00 am CST.

This Tuesday's Theme (January 16th)

The theme for this week is 'cuppa'.... I've been sharing a lot of tea & coffee photos lately... I'd love to see one of yours.

The only requirement - your image must contain at at least one layer of any of my textures. That's it, that's all.

See you Tuesday... I hope.

Onto the Give Away Announcements

The winner of the lovely one word pendant is Cheryl C.

The winner of a spot in my Round Trip course is Sabrina Kalleberg.

Drop me a note ladies and I will get you hooked up.

Round Trip begins this Tuesday. There's still lots of time to 'dive' in..... Click HERE for all the details.

Oh and Beyond, Beyond.... a year long mix of Lightroom, Photoshop, Textures, Type, Inspiration and even iPhoneography.... begins next week. Click HERE to get the scoop.

One more Give Away Opportunity

How 'bout a chance to win a spot in Beyond, Beyond?

To enter, leave a comment below sharing a favourite movie or tele show....old or new.... Do tell!

Side note
I will admit to a little too much Tele over the holidays.... It did give me a chance to shut down and just kinda be. (not always a bad thing)
John and I started watching Bones on Netflix, on New Years Eve... Yep we know how to have a good time...hah...
Anyhow we watched the first season and even moved into the second.... Can you imagine? We watched something like 30 episodes! We're a little tired of it now... The main reason I kept jumping to the next episode was to see if Booth and Bones got together....I'm not joking! Sadly I've heard they don't get together until about season 5 or 6 (who knows if it There's no way I can watch that many episodes.... I'm kinda over it... ugh.
Ooops, I got a little side tracked... sorry friends....

Anyhow, as I said to enter the Beyond Beyond give away leave a comment below sharing a fav movie or television program.

I will announce the winner on Tuesday. Already signed up.... that's okay.... if you win, I will credit you back.

Until Tuesday.... here's to a truly inspired week.

Love & Gratitude.... always....

Duck Dynasty--never knew I had a little redneck in me--oh, goodness!

I don't watch a ton of tv but I do watch two faithfully. Downton Abbey and The Walking Dead. Sort of on the opposite sides of the spectrum but I do love watching both of them!

This looks like a beauty of a texture. I'm getting right on it. Thanks Kim

I'm a hopeless romantic and many of my favourite movies or shows revolve around the music. The Notebook" sigh...that song "Feels Like Home to Me" does me in every time. I also love Under the Tuscan Sun because I would love to be brave enough to take on that amazing estate and renovate while still l leaving all the marks of it's past history.

Hello Kim. Thank you for another beautiful texture. I must confess to being addicted to Downton Abbey, my little escape every Sunday. Nice way to end the weekend.

ACK! You are a Bones spoiler! Lol! I used to watch that with my kids, and had been purchasing the dvd's a while ago. Then once we got apple t.v., I quit buying dvd's altogether. My daughter skipped ahead, and so the family time with the series kinda fell apart. I was hoping they'd get together!

Right now I'm watching Supernatural. My son got us hooked while he was here on leave. It's quite fascinating... demons & angels, etc. I never can seem to commit totally to a show.

Do you remember Dynasty during the 80's? My family all watched (we each had a t.v. in our rooms... seriously, who does that?)... even the ones that didn't live with us. Then we'd all talk about it on the phone the next day or at family get togethers. Lol!
I'm a big fan of The Voice. Lots of movies I would have liked to have seen on the big screen, but alas I don't get out much.

Love the 1301 texture! Can't wait to use it. Thanks for sharing!
A movie that I seem to watch every time I see that it is on TV is Coach. Great inspirational story.
January 13, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterReneeB
My all time favorite movie is Steel Magnolias - like everything about it! And would love to win a slot!!
January 13, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNM Creatrix
Oh, Kim! Our family does the "seasons of a show" thing too! (And we enjoyed Bones - an interesting series that explores a unique career) We are currently watching Star Trek: Next Generation and are on the final disc of the final season!!! Our sweet tweener loves fantasy/action/sci-fi stuff but we really are not "Trekkies".!

OK, but my true confession, the show I tape and watch (and re-watch? Only because there are marathons every Saturday!) is NCIS...I know, I know - even my family says its a little predictable by now, but I STILL love watching the episodes...the character development is so good and so diverse!! And I can play with photoshop while listening!

I would so love a trip to "Beyond Beyond" - more digital fun while watching my favorite reruns!
January 13, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterCindy
Oh my favorite movie is Office Space! When it came out I could totally relate. Still think it is funny. As for tv show I do like quite a few ranging from Person of Interest, all of CSI series, Mentalist, Once upon a time.......

Love your textures!!! Thank you.

I just saw the Cirque de Soleil movie. Incredible athletics, costumes, make-up, sets, music...Loved it!

Kim thanks for all the fabulous textures. Can't wait for Beyond Beyond and Round Trip to start. I'm signed up for both. :o)

WooHoo! How cool that you are a Bones fan, too!
I am already signed up for Beyond Beyond and am looking forward to it.
The hubby and I enjoy watching Bones together. He buys me the dvd's for birthday's etc. I am a bit hard to buy for. We have enjoyed the character development of the series. I think our favorite part is the eyes ore the "looks" that are exchanged. And I know if Bones and Booth get together but I won't spoil it for you just in case you decide to watch another marathon.
Thanks for all he wonderful textures and videos but more so thanks for the inspiration and encouragement.
You are Beyond Beyond Awesome!

If you want to pee yourself laughing, the British series, The IT Crowd (available on Netflix instant watch) is hilarious!! PS I really enjoy all the goodies you offer. Thank you : )

Love the texture!
We have no cable so we don't watch too many tv shows but my favorite movie of all time is Shawshank Redemption, I have to watch it every year, especially when I am not feeling well.
January 14, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterChristine Lovelace
My husband and I watch a couple of hours most nights before calling it a night. ( truly, I think that he feels that is one way to keep me off the computer and my editing programs for a while! ) As far as I know, it is impossible to edit in LR and Photoshop while watching compelling TV drama. Our kids are grown up and gone now, but they got us hooked on"24"one holiday when they came home. Talk about addicting. We usually watch a couple of episodes a night but sometimes I would talk him into watching three a night and sometimes four on the weekends. I felt like I lost a friend when we were finished. No more Jack. It would be hard to give up editing and learning to do more things with my images. Your classes sound totally amazing and I would love to become part of the Beyond, Beyond group so that I could grow and learn even more about layers and textures in 2013! Your textures are just wonderful and 1301 really looks like something I could sink my teeth into. Thank you for keeping all of us busy and happy, doing what we love.
January 14, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDebbie Payne
I'm fond of Downtown Abbey, and also series that take place in hospitals ... I followed Grey's Anatomy some time ago. I saw "The Hunt" yesterday at the movies with my friend ~ a strong and touching movie about a man, who is being accused of padofilia, even though he was totally innocent. Not a 'happy go lucky" film, but an extraordinary well described and well played dilemma taking place in a small suburbs community. Especially the main role was played incredibly well by Mads Mikkelsen, who has received awards for this role.

We're big fans of Masterpiece Theater on PBS but we also like shows with a little more edge like Justified. We rarely watch TV while the shows are on but just set the DVR to record and then watch when we have some downtime - like Saturday nights. Country life. Love the tea scoop in your photo~
January 14, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterRoberta
Lovely new texture, Kim - looking forward to downloading it and giving it a whirl!

For older TV shows, Dick Van Dyke and the Andy Griffith are favorites and I have both complete series on DVD. more recent favorites are Monk (also have that complete series), Extreme Makeover Home Edition and Once Upon a Time. My son and I rent TV series to watch at home, as well (another son is a manager at Blockbuster) and this fall and winter I've seen Jericho, The 4400, Veronica Mars, Life, Lie to Me, Flashpoint and Criminal Minds - all great series. I've also been enjoying the Big Bang Theory :) I know most of these shows were on years ago, but I didn't watch them then...

I'm glad to see Texture Tuesday is back and am looking forward to beginning Beyond Beyond zoo, too!

Hugs from Alaska - kimB

I love how you have a story for us and then make us wait... too funny!
Yep, actually just got done a few minutes ago with three episodes of Bones. One side note about the show is how much very cool music I've discovered from watching it. Netflix recently added another season (I have no idea how many there are) so I'm slowly working my through it. I don't do tv, only netflix (which can get frustrating to get really into something and then have to wait for them to hopefully someday add another season...) and dvd's. Other series I've enjoyed are Fringe (my favorite), Dexter, and Lie To Me. My all-time favorite show was/is the original Get Smart, with Don Adams :)
Thanks for another great texture, I'll try to work it into the 'cuppa' theme.
Have a great week!!!
January 14, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterScott Allan
You are too funny .... oh and before I forget, hey, Bones is still on regular season and will be Monday nights as always.
Hubby and I are also big fans. Didn't watch the first season at all then one night caught it and we were hooked.
They are so cute together so really you have to watch the new ones. Good writers. The show is crammed with lots of good stuff about all the characters ... I'm sure you'll enjoy the new ones as much.

Okay ... oh my goodness you are just full of inspiration this week ... well, you are all of the time and each week whether it be here or Beyond ... I have ideas for all of it. Trouble is I've not even picked up the camera to play at Making some images in months because of having a house guest that took up all of my time. Well, she is gone now after 10 weeks and we are loving having our privacy back but now I am so behind in all of my work it is crazy.

I had to work on my calendars so have spent the past few days getting them done. Still have to take them to print and here it is the middle of January. It never fails. First it was the computer crash that delayed me then the guest on top of getting a new computer then not having time to set it up the way I wanted let alone finding all of my files with I needed them.

So I must tell you that I love the coffee and tea themes ... right up my ally. Makes me want to find my tea infuser and have at it.
Thank you again for all of your wonderful thoughtful ways ... it makes me just so grateful to have you and your imagination to look forward to when I need to replenish my sanity. I have already signed up for Beyond Beyond ... it's like breathing now ... couldn't not have it in my life.

I'm hoping to get some of my Beyond assignments completed this week just to get me back on track again. AND I love that Beyond starts again the day after my birthday ... it's just so right and such a nice present to give myself.

This is my year ... because I said so ... so here I come! Can't wait to see what you are cooking up ... the suspense is killing me ... in a good way. Thanks for the texture ... always a beauty.

Love and hugs, Joy

I rarely watch TV...probably because I spend too much time on the computer! LOL I would still enjoy a chance at winning a spot spot in your class. I really enjoyed the one I took; learned lots.

I love the latest texture! The only TV show I've been addicted to this year is Nashville. So glad it is back to new episodes after the holiday season!

My favorite show is "The Good Wife".
January 14, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterPat
I'm not a big TV fan and I usually prefer books to a movie, but these here are som of my favorites:
Castle (only recently and the only crime show I'd ever watch), HIMYM (the best new "Friends" around) and Big Bang Theory (love it!).

Hope to be lucky this time, I have no clue about anything texture-related...
January 14, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterCaro
We really like The Amazing Race and Survivor. Some past seasons are available on DVD. Thanks for the chance to win! By the way, we LOVE 24 too. We recently started rewatching the series. Did you know Keifer Sutherland is a photographer?
January 14, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterVicki I.
I stop in front of the TV when Shawshank Redemption is or Birdman of Alcatrez . Continue to cry over Fried Green Tomatoes and Steel Magnolia. But my all time favorite movie is The Patriot. Thank you Kim for the pleasure of your weekly textures and tips and tutorials.

Thanks so much for the beautiful texture! Can't wait to try it!
Survivor is still one of my all time favourites...never get tired of that show...And I am obsessed with Breaking Bad and Shameless! Must-see tv!

The Good Wife seems to be the only series we can keep up with lately! Probably because my husband likes to watch it and makes sure we don't miss it!lol
Thanks for all the texture shares.

Hello Kim. :)
Thank you for another beautiful texture.
We don't have a TV, so I relay on DVDs. I am loving The Big Bang Theory, and Friends is still one of my all time favorites series, it cheers me right up if I feel a wee blue. :)
My Secret Santa didn't pick Beyond Beyond for me, but "Expressive Photography: The Shutter Sisters' Guide to Shooting from the Heart". I know many Beyonders love it, so I am happy anyway. I'll now try to re-view all the lessons of Beyond Layers I can before the end of Feb. Thanks again for the lovely class. :)
Wishing you a most pleasant week. :)

Oh you HAVE to see Downton Abbey! So amazing! Really so well done, and you will be hooked after the first episode!
Glad you're back. I've been sick and finally feeling better and I spired myself. A sweet customer gave me a handmade ceramic coffee mug that looks so very similar to the one above! I'll have to shoot it for tomorrow. :)

Ah...another lovely texture - thank you Kim!!! A weekly tv show for hubby and I is Blue Bloods - always been a huge fan of Tom Selleck - we love their "family dinners/conversations". For crazy fun we enjoy Survivor - nothing is ever as it seems! BTW - I give up photo/editing time just to get these two watched!! LOL xo

I am glad to see downton abby back again. Thanks for the texture.
January 14, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterAndrea
Thank you for the beautiful texture, Kim. My all-time fav movie is "Somewhere In Time."

Somewhere in Time is a 1980 romantic science fiction film directed by Jeannot Szwarc. It is a film adaptation of the 1975 novel Bid Time Return by Richard Matheson, who also wrote the screenplay. The film stars Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour, Christopher Plummer, Teresa Wright, and Bill Erwin.

Reeve plays Richard Collier, a playwright who becomes smitten by a photograph of a young woman at the Grand Hotel. Through self-hypnosis, he travels back in time to the year 1912 to find love with actress Elise McKenna (portrayed by Seymour). But her manager William Fawcett Robinson (portrayed by Plummer) fears that romance will derail her career and resolves to stop him.

The film is known for its musical score composed by John Barry. The eighteenth variation of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini also runs throughout the film.

I highly recommend it!

I'm trying not to watch so much tv but it is good to chill out to. I love criminal minds, hawai 5-0, NCIS Los Angeles . . . and the list goes on. :0)

Our new pup is keeping us busy at the moment so that's definitely cutting into my tv time but that's a good thing.

Talking of cuppa's think I need to go and make myself one.

I have a two year old who loves the Sprout channel, so I watch A LOT of PBS kids programming. Right now her favorite is Caillou. She just loves that show. I am probably one of few adults who can tell that them song from the first couple notes!

I get the fascination with Bones...I've been watching it too, but not all at once! I did do the marathon viewing when we got the boxed set of the old Soap series. OMG, we just couldn't stop...they are so ridiculously funny! Thanks for another fabulous texture. I can't wait for Round Trip and Beyond Beyond to get started!
January 14, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterLinda Kittmer
Don't watch a lot of TV (doesn't everyone say that?), but my exceptions are Masterpiece Classic and Masterpiece Mystery. I love Downton Abbey. The network shows I regularly tune in to are Castle and Modern Family. Both of these for their humor, though Castle usually has a pretty good puzzle to solve as well as suspense. My old time favorites are The Andy Griffith Show, the Dick van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show - they're all part of my history. Too many movies to mention. Thanks for the lovely texture!
