Creative Chaos

Hello friends,

I'm back....2 days in a row... woo hoo. Things are looking up!!

How are you?

Today I thought I'd share some photos of my studio... I must warn you.... if clutter and chaos make you squeamish... you should probably just walk away..... now....

I'm told my photos are quiet and calm....  Today... not so much. Busy, busy..... busy....

My studio is pretty much my mother's worst nightmare.... Have I told you .... we are polar opposites? She wouldn't argue that statement either.... 'smile'....

Anyhow, way too many 'things'.. I know.... But I love all the bits, bobs...and treasures.... so much.... Each and every little thing...every book, notecard, postcard.... bottle, bobble, button, stamp, stencil, saucer, cup....all pieces I adore.

Anyhow, I love peaking into people's spaces...each so unique.... So I thought what the heck... It's been awhile since I've posted some photos of my space.

Finding it hard to breathe? feeling panicked? so much clutter..... grab a paper bag, breathe deep ....and walk away from the screen....
Don't say I didn't warn you. 'smile'

my new kelly bag - 2 Sues.... it's amazing... i use it as a purse/camera bag....

and finally a peek at my 'newish' cup shelf in the north room...

And so... This is where I spend my days. :)

Thanks so much for all the replies to yesterday's post.... I am going to have a difficult time picking just a few to chat with.... I think I am going to have to call in help to figure this out. I'm honored so many of you would like to connect with me.... thank you so much.

Also, I'm super excited to hear your response abo9ut the Lightroom class!! It's a GO... details to come very soon..... I think it's exactly what I'm needing to create next....

Happy weekend.... xo,

thank you dear Cheryl for the beautiful birthday gift... it just arrived...and it's PERFECT.... seriously perfect. xo

Dear Kim ...

I adore seeing your space, and I must tell you ... yours is much more Organized creative chaos than mine is. Mine is just chaos, period! I have been working on my room more since last year but the trouble is I have more in here than just my creative elements. It was a dumping ground from the moment we moved in here 5 years ago. The house is short on storage everywhere.

I am fully intending to create a space here that will be organized yet still chaotic ... because that is how I work best. I wish I had your shelves ... have always loved them! Oh gosh ... I just love your house!!
My dream is to have my own home yet ... and I will!! Then my studio, gallery, classroom ... all will come true.
Seeing your studio before has given me tons of ideas for my space which has helped a lot. The thing is, I'm a Collector too which means ... I am going to have to create a space to put all my props and get on with using them.

I have a store here much like your Lady of the Lake, called The Passionate Home. She brings in a lot of (reuse, recycle, restore) and Re-Purpose, Re-Claim, Re-Style home items ... omg, you would Love it. Carrie herself is a brilliant creative person so much of it is her doing. I just need more money ... =0). So many things are one of a kind and I get so many ideas for them but they all can't come home with me.

Well before this one turns into a book like that last post ... I will close now. Thanks for the continued inspiration Kim ... and for sharing your space again ... your mug collection is growing!!

your space is how I would have mine if I had such a space -- right down to the hearts string above your computer in phone 1.
Like how you open your creative art space..Hugs

Looks like a fun space Kim. Thanks ever so much for sharing. I said you were opening the flood gates! Not surprised so many want to speak to you. I will make things a bit easier. Take my name off the list. I have had the pleasure of talking with you live time at SS Oasis and I'm sure there are others who have not. Our time will come to speak again.
Many blessings to you. Have a lovely weekend.

Oh Wow Kim!! A 2-Sues bag - mine is too in the taupe color with lavender inside! LOVE that bag. Today I was wondering how your space looked - how many things you must have to take such a lovely variety of photos - especially the cups! LOL Cups galore! My space is full of paper, thread, fabric, yarn, wool...i was mulling over the drop photo in our lesson this week, and wondering what would I "drop" for a photo. Your space is wonderful!!

Ok, one more thing to add to the weekend to-do list: Get all my cups & such out of the closet! Oh... And pick up some coffee cup hooks (so simple... Why did't I think of that). Thanks for inviting us in,Kim.

Ohmygosh!!!! I just love your creative space. When one of my sons moved out I took his room for myself...a place where I quilt, knit, read, photograph flowers and just be. I cannot put my computer in there, not because there is not does not feel right. I just finished taking your Pic Proc class at the kitchen table:) As I type to you now I am in my usual space in the basement. Blessed be. Jen xo

Hi Kim, Oh yes! Yup...totally get and love this creative space. I see you are crazy for twine too ;) But no Ben?! Well, here's a link to a lady who I think may be just up your street. Emma Hall, needle felts dogs :) Her work is incredible - so lifelike. I get her Facebook status updates in my newsfeed and I sit with my mouth open :D! I reckon she could needle felt a cracking Ben, and he could hangout on a shelf overseeing your work :) So pleased to get two posts from you - the fug lifting a wee bit I hope. Belated birthday wishes :) I hope the year sparkles for you. Breezy x

I feel right at home in your space! I've been a little worried lately that perhaps the 'eclectic' nature of my many artistic interests has been defeating my creative purpose...but with this post you have only encouraged me. LOL.

A clear uncluttered desk (studio) is the sign of a sick mind.... quote that I kept on my desk for MANY years...

Chaos? Your studio seems to me a source of inspiration, a place to create, to breathe ... a space I dream of. Thank you for sharing.

Oh Kim...what an exciting space you have...I will come back later when I get my blog post done...I'm trying real hard to use Monday and Thursday for my work...babies, Tuesday and Wednesday...nothing gets done and Friday..I got with my girlfriends...looking for treasure to use in "my still life" that from you...never collected props before...anyways I think I'm somewhere in between chaos and calm...only because I have a small space..Now that I've seen some hooks over at your place and a few more shelves...I might be finding spots for hanging...I do love my space though, it's just my hide-away, my alone room for the most part..
I will say I'm amazed at all you have much...I'd be totally go girl.
So glad you like the little book..."I Collect"...all of them and use them frequently...Yes I'm a collector, especially of books and quotes...
Have a beautiful day Kim and a wonderful, loving year...your are growing into such a creative power...and I wish you the best have helped me grow and for that I thank you...xoxo

Oh my! if that is what you call chaos I'll need to think of a new name to describe my space. I love all the cups and pieces of china you have right there. I always have to go digging through cupboards and boxes when I want something to add to a photo.
