Dear friends,

Awhile back I asked you to share a favourite movie or television show. Hands down, Downton Abbey was the fav. I had never heard of it. Naturally I was curious.... I googled it....and so it began. Our new addiction. We watched one episode after another.... and now it's over. I think I'm having withdrawl.... I can't wait for Season 4.

Have you been watching it? If yes, oh my gosh....  the season 3 finale.... What??? I won't spoil anything. But wowzer! Shock and dismay......

Okay so the other day I was out for a walk after watching the final episode and it came to me... I should make a Downton Texture Collection for my readers.... a little thank you for sharing such a wonderful series....

And so here you have it sweet friends.... Thank you.....

The Downton Collection - Mary, Cora, Sybil & Edith.....

Perhaps this will be a first eDition.... After all there are many lovely Downton characters to honour.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts, wishes, encouragement, inspiration..... even your favourite television shows...... It's truly a joy to read your lovely words. I am forever and always grateful.

In the States, we're just halfway through Season 2! However, I purchased the first two seasons because I missed an episode here and there. And today, I ordered Season 3. These are all the UK editions, with subtitles??? Oh well. it's such a beautiful series. Thank you for the beautiful textures!

Oh my Kim, this collection is so, so, pretty! Thank you so much for sharing them with us. So glad you discovered Downton Abbey. Wouldn't you love to photograph just about everything in and around that beautiful estate?! Maybe you could do a collection in honour of some of the great male characters (good and evil) next.
Cheers, Cathy

Thank you! Your textures are so beautiful.
I just started watching this show (just three episodes in) and I already love it!
February 7, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterSheila
I've watched a few episodes and need to get the back seasons to get caught-up. My Mom watches and is recording this new season.
What a creative idea you had making textures honoring the characters. Beautiful. Thank you!
February 7, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterLaurie
Ironic that right after your post about renting the former episodes and throughly being hooked on Downtown Abbey, my sister asks me the same week if I have ever seen it. Guess that is fate calling and I will have to start watching this series, too. I have heard nothing but rave revues. Thanks so much for the gorgeous textures, Kim! Some day, maybe I will relate to how each correlates to the characters for which they were named.

Side note to all Kim Klassen fans and Lightroom wanna-be's:
I can't rave enough about the Road Trip Class. Last year when I decided to delve into portrait photography, I looked at Lightroom, knew it would provide the workflow and organization that I was looking for, however, it was just to daunting a task to tackle learning a new software while also working on my photography skills, business website, forms, etc. Now, 10 mos. later, I felt ready to tackle it. I can't even imagine trying to do it without the aid of this class, and I am only at day 3...way behind, but playing catch up. I highly recommend this class to all, however before you sign up, I caution you to make sure you have your photo organization thought out & in place, along with an adequate storage & back up solution. This is why I am behind! But now that I am getting into the nitty gritty, I am so excited about what learning this program means...increased efficiency, creative flexibility & possibilities and a smarter workflow. Be sure to sign up for the next Round Trip class. You will not regret it!

Kim, Thank you for the gorgeous textures and the reminder for me to start watching DAbby. I found it listed on our cable so planned to watch season 1 but then just kinda forgot about it! I know it will be addicting and want to watch with my hubby. It is so fun to look forward to a good show in the evening!
February 7, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterKathy
Thanks so much for your generosity! I'm a fan of Downton Abbey too, and these elegant textures seem very fitting.
February 7, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterJan
These are beautiful textures, beautiful colors. I've been photographing snippets of letters my parents wrote to each other back in the 1940s, before they were married. These textures work wonderfully with them, and I thank you for sharing your work so generously. Downton Abbey is also one of my favorites, and I wait impatiently for the next season to be available.
February 7, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterElisabeth Mayer
This is such a fantastic ode to this wonderful public television series. I must remember to set my cable to either tape or view this continuing, talked about series. Love your color choices for the textures.Thank you for this fabulous download and again for your ongoing generosity. Blessings. ;)

Oh my - what beautiful colors! Love them together and can't wait to try them. I keep hearing so many good things about Downton Abbey, but yet to watch it and feel maybe it's too late since three seasons have past. But I love period pieces so I think I'll have to try and catch up. Thanks Kim!

Kim, this is such a delightful collection of textures! Thank you so much! I have yet to watch Downton Abbey. Although I had hoped to pick it up at the library, season 1 is out on loan and has 2 people waiting! I may have to resort to Netflicks.

Wishing you a wonderful week-end,
