I'm gonna dive right into my uptop find.... My new/old chair!! Oh my gosh.... be still my heart... I found it at Lady of the Lake today!! There it was.... just waiting for me!! gasp.....

Funny story... Bryce was bringing it in.... he says... I feel like I should be hauling this to the trash ... not the house!! Oh boys.... Ugh...

I ran it right up to the north room... Oh my gosh....it did not disappoint. I only had time for a few quick photos... before the connect... But there will be plenty moree with this beauty!! I can't wait to wake up and capture a few shots in the morning light!

My second ff.... the sweet cream and sugar.... found at the hospital gift shop... I've been looking for a white simple-shaped set... This was it!! The cup and saucer is a re-discovery.... one of my Anthro goodies from California...So pretty!!

An Update on John

John is still in the hospital. What they thought was an infection seems to be Graft vs Host. It's a risk after transplant. They started treating him with steroids and the pain has subsided. He's still having nausea and stomach issues. He's scheduled for a scope tomorrow.... and hoping like heck to be home by Sunday.

Please continue to pray for him.......He NEEDS to come home soon!

::

Okay friends..... before I go... I shared this quote tonight on the connect....We were talking turning your hobby into your 'job'...

it's one of my favs... They suggested I share it here as well.... Good Stuff!

Happy Friday...... thank you for sharing your fab Finds......

Love & Gratitude.... ♡

xo,

so sorry to read that John is back in hospital again. I take my hat off to you, brave lady, for keeping going and providing us with such goodness, when your family is still going through a really difficult time.

Praying for a good recovery for John. Sorry to miss the 'chat' - it was the middle of the night here!

I'm still on a high from the wonderful Live Chat last evening - such an kind group of people so willing to share. And, as always, your direction, instruction and and inspiration lead the way! Your Friday Finds have so many photographic possibilities! That chair - not only great for still life pictures - I can envision one of your sons sitting backwards on the chair using the the chair back to rest their arms, against a white background - a solitary kind of look. And the little sugar and cream set, so perfect for any look from country and rustic to modern and contemporary. Love it!

I'm praying for John. And we know what it feels like to need to be home. It seems the longer the hospital stay, the sicker you get. Get the scope over with and you'll have more information. I know it's so hard to hang on when he's not feeling well for so long, but there will very soon be a day when he will turn the corner toward recovery.

that chair Kim...mmm...simply lovely. So many things you can do whith it! :D
Love the gathering yesterday, always sooooo inspiring. Hugs!!
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterLorena B. Grabinski
Lovely images and that chair is gorgeous - Bryce's comment made me smile - my husband would say exactly the same thing which is why I have to sneak finds like this passed him!
Great Seth Godin quote - so true.
Continuing to pray for John. I hope he makes it home over the weekend.
Much love. xx

Such lovely shots of the chair and cream / sugar set. Funny how boys are, yes :) Oh I hope John can be home soon!
I'm sorry to have missed last night's live chat, but I followed your link in the email and was able to watch all the way through this morning.....I'm in England, so it was the early hours for me....but well done to Meryl for staying up late. I shall try and stay up for the next one :)

I love your new old chair and don't let Bryce take it to the trash!! Also love the image.....I shall take it as my spark, as I know somewhere in the attic I have an old chair....it's just finding it :)

I'm really hoping John will be home with you this weekend.....also hope he's over the nausea and can enjoy a Sunday lunch.

Take care of yourself and thank you for being there :)

Crossing my fingers for a lucky chance to be a winner. Love your BIG props. Loved the linkup last night and hope John gets through is procedure today with ease. Just had this in Jan and the procedure
is a breeze compared to the prep.

Kim, I will definitely continue sending prayers from John. <3

Your chair is perfection! I laughed at your son's comment...my husband would've made the same comment, I'm sure! :)

Have a wonderful weekend. xo

What an excellent quote Kim! I'll have to use that one on a card. I love the new chair too--sounds like something my boys would say too. They just don't get it. Would live to win a spot in your class, I learned so much in 2B!
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterAmy Westerman
Boys they are so funny. My husband would think and say the same thing. The good thing is that he sees what I do with those old battered things and knows it is good, so he is learning to trust my instincts when I find things. Prayers for John to come home very soon!! I must get a cup with a saucer, that is one thing I am missing in my prop collection. We have an Anthro. trip coming up soon, so I will remedy that situation. Love that quote! I love my life, just wish there was more time in a day to do everything I want to do.
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterSarah
good morning Kim ... I just wanted you to know that you and John are always in my thoughts. I so hope that he is able to be back at home on Mother's Day ... such a wonderful gift that would be! I love the quote you shared today. My husband always says that when he comes home from work each day ... it is like a vacation here ... so quiet ... so lovely. That just makes my heart so grateful that we have this home. And i adore your find this week ... that chair is awesome!! so chippy ... so "you" ... enjoy! I hope you have a lovely mother's day!
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered Commenternancyjean
Oh that chair! I love it! Looking forward to Be Still - Fifty Two next week!

Still hoping and praying John comes home Sun. And sails through the scope procedure. Ok-if I'd find that chair someone would have to revive....probably twice! Beautiful photos Kim

I really love the quote you shared.. I have never seen it before but so true...
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterTrina
The chair is a perfect find with all the textures already in it. This blog and Tuesday textures have been inspirational, and I finally got lightroom. So much to learn and enjoy.

I hope all goes well for husband and that he will be home soon.
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterJenny
perfect quote...thank you
and I've been looking for a perfect chair too...didn't know it was up in Canada! enjoy!
I will pray for John and your family. I'm so sorry to hear he is still in the hospital. Thank you for sharing the quote. It really resonated and was just what I needed today.

I really enjoyed the connect last night, thank you Kim ! I LOVE your chair...what a find , and your photo is perfect :) I saw a couple of old chairs at the antique mall the other day, but knew my hubby would think I was crazy ( he probably already does..lol )....I shall have to go back there on my own and sneak it in !

Praying that John can come home this weekend.
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterCaz ( aka Carol )
The chair definitely has character. I wish I could acquire the knack to find such things -- but of course I would need a place for all the Fnds I would use as props. My husband thinks I have enough "junk" but a woman can never have enough "treasured Finds". I, too, look forward to Be Still and think it may be time to renew TK into my life again. Let's see....New Beginnings are coming soon.
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterDellen
Your work is lovely and inspirational, and that chair is a definite find!
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterHeather S.
so so very petty - love this setting!
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterRese
I have found some of the most awesome pieces of furniture during my 'curb shopping' adventures. I have a wonderful old glass fronted cabinet that someone had put out to bulk pick up...I almost ran into a tree when I saw it by the side of the road...it's amazing what a woman can shove into a car when she's determined! Just love that chair and know you'll be enjoying many, many hours of shooting it in your 'white room'.
Hope John is continuing to improve and that all goes well during today's procedure...your 'tribe' is always here to support you as you know...hugs and many thanks for last night's 'meeting'...it was a wonderfully inspiring 'gabfest'...loved having that chat feature to hear what others had to ask and contribute.

BTW...put me in the 'pot' for the drawings this week.XOXO from the Jersey Shore.

New "sparks" are appearing in this community!!! Sparks from S2F community, sparks from you, Kim. A rekindling of excitement, encouragement, and creative inspiration!! Looking forward to the beauty coming from each and every one. I agree about the movement of still life images, how they are calming! Good wishes for John's procedure and continued progress...hope he will be home so very soon!! Oh and the chair!! THE best!! Blessings to you and yours!
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterBeverly

I'd love to win a spot in your class...I'm already a TK member. :) The chair is so perfect!! I'm hoping to do a blog challenge of a chair make over. I have a few around to make over. Another :)
I will continue to pray for John. Steroids I know can be tough.
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterJill
I seriously want to live in your white room. Stilling praying for john. Happy mothers day!!
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterCarrie Fleitz

I was so excited about The Studio Collection, in The Test Kitchen, that I finally joined... woohoo! I spent an evening downloading all kinds of goodies :-) What fun. Now I have to take entire days to go back and read through the content :-D Your Be Still- Fifty-Two sounds interesting. And that chair, what a find. Praying for John and that his body would fully accept the transplant.
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterLisa
I would love to win a spot in either of the two give aways...

Happy Mother's Day, and get well John.
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterRob
Keeping you and yours in my prayers. Your photos are always so lovely and I am enjoying using the filters and overlays you have so generously shared with us.
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterMitzi
Love the quote, love your images, love your giveaways. Thank you for all the inspiration. Prayers for you and John.
Praying for John....

...and loving your chair!

I had a few old chairs I was saving for some unkown to me reason and my youngest decided to paint them one crafty summer:) Someday I will have to photo the chairs she did and I think I may have one old chair left in storage....will have to go check:)
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterGail O
Ahhh, looking forward to starting the 52 weeks. Good luck with getting your hubby home soon.
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterScott Jones
I so enjoyed the connect last night.

I do hope John gets better soon. He is definitely in my prayers.
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterDeAnne
I just know 30 years from now Bryce will find some flaking-pealing painted piece of furniture (maybe a chair) and carry it into his house... Have a big smile, for having found a treasure that is so cozy and beautiful. Because he is in training now and will, in time p, see beauty from eyes of his experience and special moments shared with mom.
I love the chair photo and wonder where my love of the imperfect and sweetly aged came from. Mom? I don't know, but the fact that it brings a cozy feel makes me think that may be it. My ff, I guess!
Take care, my thoughts with you and John. Kk
May 9, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterKathy
The connect last night was amazing. It makes the rest of the class seem alive, like we're together in real time.
So glad to be part of this wonderful group of talented artists. Thoughts and prayers to John and you and Bryce too.

Thank you for the lovely texture collection, Kim - I'm heading right away to Test Kitchen to download the beauties!
It is wonderful to hear that there is more clarity of what is causeing John the nausea and weakening him ... Praying for his recovery, and that he'd be able to come home soon!
May 10, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterNina
Oh my goodness, another old chair lover! I have chairs in my tiny "preparing for retirement" home that I just love and cannot let go of...One even ended up in my office at work out of desperation. I love to just look at them. Kim, you of all people would probably understand how my favorite picture from Costa Rica is a very old bus stop bench made of wood. Nice to know I am not alone...lol.

Praying that John gets well and returns home very soon. And praying for your continued love and patience.
I love this quote! So many people are making that happen, I haven't figured it out yet...
I would love to do 'Be Still 52' but just can't seem to find it in the budget...:(
Love and Hugs always...
