Before I sign off..... Lately...

Johns still in the hospital.... Poor guy... such a time.

I've been running back and forth all week.....Gosh...it's cold here... - 30 to -40 with the wind.... CRAZY.

Today... my mom and dad came into the city ... It was so lovely to see them.... My brother also stopped in to see John (while in for work) ... It was a good day.... In spite of what's happening....

John seems to have the docs a little stumped.... but we are trusting things will get sorted........and he will be back here at the Port, soon. His spirits are good....we're soo thankful for that.

Anyhow, It's been a bit of a blur.... 2B members.... the Calendar Part 2 lesson will go up this weekend.

Off to bed I go.....

Hi Kim, thanks for your comment and it's nice to be here having seen so many people post to your friday finds I thought I would join in. I am in Sydney, long story, seems we are leading parallel lives too as my husband was diagnosed with bowel cancer in August, he is half way through chemotherapy. I hope things are a bit better with you. Doesn't life throw up some curveballs!!

Thank you for the brushes!
Confessions time... My mom passed away in June and my beloved Grisholm (Bernese Mountain dog) passed away 2 months ago. It has been a very tough time for me so I know how difficult these last 7 months has been for you and for poor John. Today, I was at the local Farmers Market selling my photography as canvas prints and photocards. A lady came in and was complimenting me on one of my canvas prints. I know that her family doesn't have much in the way of income being farmers trying to make a go of organics. So I told her that if she really liked the canvas I would sell it to her for cost. She inquired how much the base cost was and then said that she would talk it over with her husband. We wished each other a great day and she went on her rounds of the market. The other photographer with me had listened to the conversation and asked me if I was aware that the lady I was just speaking with was having a difficult time at home. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Well, her husband has stage 4 cancer. He's still receiving treatment and is holding his own, but the farm is also just hanging on because her husband hasn't been able to do as much. They are relying on their boys to do more and more." I sat back for a moment and thought about everything I had gone through this year. I needed a pick me up. So, I took the canvas off the wall, walked over to the lady who had been asking about it, I gave her a big hug, wished her a Merry Christmas and pressed the canvas into her hands. "A gift," I said. "From me to you. Merry Christmas" When I turned to walk away, I was the one wearing a big smile because I saw her eyes light up. Why am I telling you this? Because YOU are that giving every week. I hope that you know your generosity is an inspiration and that people the world over have you and your family in their thoughts and prayers. Sending you hugs and Best Wishes. XOXO

I am sitting here crying after reading the comment above. But it's tears of joy. I lost my husband in September and people have been so kind to me. It was 9 1/2 years since his diagnosis of brain cancer back in 2004. I'm sorry to hear that John isn't well but so glad that he's got a good spirit. I can surely sympathize with what you're going through. The holidays are tough enough!

I wanted to thank you for the lovely little brush collection I just downloaded. You have a generous soul, Kim. I wish nothing but the best for you. Take care.
