My Friday Finds

So much has been happening around here... I don't know where to begin.....

First.... I just had to post the up top photo of Bryce.... He and I have been working on some new material for my Start to Finish class.....He's amazing at video....and it's awesome to have him here helping me with the class.

Unfortunately.... this week past week was a little less productive than we hoped. Bryce has been volunteering his time....helping with some moving etc....here at A Port in the Storm...... It's been crazy busy.... But next week... (hopefully).... we will have a few uninterrupted days to GET stuff DONE.

He also has an amazing project in the works.... something he's been moving toward his whole life.... It may even change his life......

More soon....

Today, John's wonderful Uncle came into the city... picked us up and took us to Lockport..... We made several stops along the way and took some photos....antique churches and old school houses.... lovely riverside scenes....english gardens....and more. It was such a treat....so nice to be the passenger.... B.C. (before cancer) I had only driven in Winnipeg once....and I swore I would never...... Now I'm here, there and everywhere....... But oh my goodness... it can be stressful.

I haven't had a chance to go through all the photos....but these are a few favourites so far.

John is doing pretty good. He's feeling a little stronger....getting out and about a little more each day. His stem cell transplant is scheduled for September 27th.... He's anxious about it......We all are..... But it's got to be done.

He's dreading the 4-6 week stay in the hospital.... the effects of chemo/radiation treatment, and the transplant itself. We are praying all will go well... that the transplant will go smoothly. It sounds like we will be here, in Winnipeg.... right through til the end of the year... possibly longer.

deep breaths.....

It's all so surreal..... There are days it's okay....other days....it's just too much....
Either way... we move forward...  one step...then the next.... and so on.....

I miss Brett.... I miss Ben..... I miss my family.... our home.... the quiet, peaceful life we had.....There are times my heart literally aches......

But we will find our way home..... we will be okay.....

Thank you for your comments...emails... snail mail.... thank YOU for stopping by...... and sharing your photos....your visits mean so much.....

Gratitude.... forever...and always....

xo,

Ah, yes, - the drive up to Lockport is beautiful. I love that little garden by the river! (Hot dogs are Skinner's are really good, too!) It sounds like a much-needed break for you and John. I hope it soothed your aching hearts, at least for a while.

Just looking at your photo visit to the area is relaxing to me, and seeing a camera on Bryce's face - how sweet! He has the great talent of his mom. :) Love those black-eyed susans. They are so pretty this time of year. Sending love and hugs! xo

Oh my, I'm a little behind I guess. I am not sure what John is going through but my mom has recurrent NH lymphoma and tx has been horrible. She is dreading her stem cell transplant as well but it must be done. I certainly will pray that all goes well.

You and John and your family continue to be in my thoughts and prayers, Kim. "Faith is a bird that feels dawn breaking and sings while it is still dark." Rabindranath Tagore I know you have much faith and strength. Hoping the love we all feel for you eases the ache some.
