My Friday Finds

I'm always on the hunt for lovely linens...... napkins...tea towels...table runners.... perfect for pretty pictures..... It's the texture... the feel.... Oh my.....

Big thanks to my friend Prairie Girl for reminding me of Rough Linen.

The Story

I was talking with PG on the tele a few weeks back..... I'm not sure how the conversation came around to her linen pinafore.... I was curious to find out more.... so I popped over to PG's blog to read her rough linen story....

Beautiful.....

Here's my sweet friend in her lovely rough linen pinafore.... It's so you, PG!!

Then....I popped over to the Rough Linen website..... Gasp..... It's difficult to put into words.... You gotta go see for yourself......AMAZING

Phew... so glad I found my way there.....

'smile'.....

I ordered a pinafore (i'm sure you will see me wearing it in the upcoming S2F class)....and a tea towel....Oh my gosh....... seriously... there are no words for this linen.....It's a dream......

As I prepared this post... Donna's pillow case came to mind. That was back in June...about a month after John was diagnosed... It's all such a blur. But once I found Donna's beautiful post again.....it all came back. Yeesh, I can't believe it took that long for me to remember her post.... Oh my......

Thank you PG and Donna..... so much!

Today's photos feature my lovely linen tea towel... so many possiblities.....

My Rough Linen wish list is a mile long.... .... Tricia, the founder is so inspired.... You gotta pop over and read her story..... It's beautiful.

Close your eyes....
...imagine snuggling under a linen duvet? Setting a linen covered table.... or pulling back these curtains? Oh my...... Yes please!! Thank you....

Wanna feel this linen? You can order a beautiful sample card... HERE.

Perhaps you have a Rough Linen story of your own... If so, I'd love to hear about it in the comments.....

Happy Friday friends...... thank you for sharing your lovely Finds......

Love & Gratitude.... ♡

xo,

Good Morning Kim, What a nice surprise to find that we have yet another thing in common - linen love. Thanks so much for sending friends to my Rough Linen pillowcase post. You won't be surprised to find that after the pillowcase, I ordered a tea towel and a pinafore, too. Really, when you receive your pinafore, you will never want to take it off! It makes me so happy thinking of friends across the world wearing their aprons and creating their art. I'll definitely pop over to visit Prairie Girl, too. My birthday is this month and I am campaigning hard for my husband to give me the S2F class - can't wait to learn more from you! Your photos are the best advertisement for linen and tea and friendship and all that is good in this life. Thank you for this sweet start to my day.

Oh gosh! Kim, linen and I have been in love for the last 15 years when I was learning heirloom sewing. My sewing closet is full of linen, different weights mostly, but always white, off white, or pastels. And it is so ironic you posted about the pinafore - I made one just like this last Saturday! I LOVE it...it's hanging on a hook in the kitchen ready to grab for garden, chores, or cooking. I've already fallen in love with it, and will be making one in black. You will LOVE yours too!! I love making towels, curtains, scarves, napkins and pillow cases from linen. What a beautiful post. I love how you've used the linen pieces in the photos! Another common thread. Now I'm off to visit Donna, and Rough Linen. Have a wonderful weekend!

The linen towel is perfect for adding some fine texture to your lovely shots! I don't do a lot of still life photography, but I do love the look and feel of linen. I've been expanding trying a few still life shots and using some vintage linens I have. I'm headed over to check out Rough Linen!

Linen . . . oh so beautiful, and reminds me of my grandmother who used to have white linen napkins at special dinners. Off to check out that link, thanks! xo

I love the look of linen, but hate the way it wrinkles in clothing! So I guess I like the thought of wearing cool linen more! Your captures are lovely, as always. I can really *feel* the softness.

Hello, Kim, great shots ! Thanks for sharing.
A german blogger-girl is leading a project called "View Down". This way I think more at this perspective, try them out and have noticed that it is really a good perspective.
Thanks for hosting this nice project and happy weekend, Wieczora (◔‿◔)

I, too, am a texture "junkie". It's one of the reasons I love mixed media work. I try to add texture to my digital work as well. As for my Friday Find, today I found hope for Spring, as the dogwood tree in my year began to bloom...

I am touched Kim, such beautiful photos of your linens! There is something about the way it catches the light, and the depth of the shadows which raises some deep ancestral memory - you have captured it perfectly ~
