My Friday Finds

The peonies John planted 2 summers ago are blooming..... First the dark pink..... sooo many pink peonies........and now the white..... Definitely need to plant some soft pink ..... hmmm....maybe next year.....

Anyhow, as long as they are blooming I will be taking picture of them....No apologies.....

I do believe they are my most favourite flower..... I will not look back and say 'shoulda, coulda'.... taken more pictures.

I'm not sure I always loved peonies.... funny how our tastes change and evolve...over time.....

In other news....my 4 x 4 prints from Social Print Studio arrived this week...... Oh my.... I'm just so PLEASED with them.

I even picked up a few 4 x 4 frames today.... Can't wait to hang them..... But,  they will be just as fab... hung by little washi tape..... here and there..... around the house and studio.

I highly recommend this company.... and good news.... they ship internationally!!

Tell me... have you printed your art lately?

Mmmh ... loving your peonies. They're up there with my all-time favourites too. Lovely, lovely photos. Thanks again for hosting, Kim. Have a great weekend, Bonny

I love peonies too! I have many planted back home in the states - not a flower you will see here in Singapore. I miss seeing them so I am loving your photos! thanks kim.
Poeonies are one of my favorite flowers too, I wonder about how late they are blooming in your garden. I Germany they are
showing their wonderful blossoms in May.

Lieben Gruß, Patricia

Love print studio. Have just received magnets and mini prints from them and they're lovely - the quality is amazing. Love your peonies here. We have one peony plant and I get one beautiful bloom every year and that's it! Might have to look in to feeding it up or something...I'm not a great gardener!...Happy Friday. :)

Peonies just make me smile! I really need to plant some in my garden next year. :) I love your photos and the 4x4 prints are so inspiring! Thank you for sharing these with us.

And so good news about the Print Studio shipping internationally, so I will check them out.

Thanks for offering a $ 20 Gift Card to us, your so generous!

I wish you and everybody a wonderful weekend which hopefully warm nice weather! (we do have here just cold and rainy days since a week)

Love those 4 X 4 cards. I must get some of those, since I am terrible at getting my stuff printed, maybe this will be a less intimidating size for me :) I don't know what happened to my peonies this year, no blooms. Maybe it was all the snow we had this winter piled on top of them. Oh well hopefully next year.

Please don't apologize for taking photos of your gorgeous peonies - I would never grow tired of seeing them. :)

The 4X4 cards are lovely...I must confess that I've never printed any of my work. It's an area I need to learn more about!

Have a wonderful weekend, Kim.

I love peony's as well. I once had a very old fashioned type that was single petaled, pale pink and pale yellowish inside with an absolutely wonderful aroma.

I haven't printed anything up in a LONG time! I'm kinda lovin' your linen cloth (puffy heart!)

Love these photos especially those with lemon ice water - so refreshing. Your peonies are so pretty and such a full bloom - happy sigh that John planted and they bloomed this year. Will check out the print site. Yours are so sweet!

I was so taken by your earlier post on Social Print Studio that I too ordered some little contact cards! They arrived yesterday and, as you said, are truly beautiful, so much so I'm now going to get some 5X7 greeting cards made (and they apparently come with envelopes which is extra nice). The quality of the card stock is awesome, colors perfect……..thanks for the heads up Kim. It's always such a fun thing to print one's own photos to send out, and really much less costly than buying readymade cards!

Lovely peonies, mine did not do well this year after the usually long, cold Winter here I believe - also the hydrangeas were zapped and have almost no blooms whereas usually they are covered. Nature has her way with us!

Happy weekend - hope life is going really well for you now.
Blessings - Mary in NC

Love those peonies!!! Peony season passes much too quickly for me, but I planted some tree peonies to prolong the pleasure. And thanks for the info about Printstagram--I downloaded the app and can't wait to create some prints!

I miss my peonies! I had the beautiful light pink ones and lost them all when we had to do our weeping tiles. I will plant more once we are in our new house. Beautiful pics!

Quite lovely, Kim. Flowers are just so fun to capture on film.
I have never heard of this studio. Thanks for the giveaway.

I love the water glass with the white flower in the background. I was wonder what type of fabric/curtain are you using in the background to get the soft sunlight coming through the window? Are you shooting midday or afternoon?

I ADORE peonies! I think I always have. And, I adore your photos of your peonies and think you should definitely plant more peony bushes! I practically had hedges of peony bushes when I lived in St. Louis (Missouri), but alas they do not grow in Houston, Texas... I think it's because it never gets cold enough so the bush doesn't get a true dormant season. I am anxiously awaiting the development of a hybrid peony that will thrive here, too! Enjoy your peonies, Kim, and keep capturing their beauty!

You photos are truly inspirational to me. I love the still life of your flowers. Thanks for sharing "you" with me. :)

I love peonies also, I haven't seen them quite so dark around here though. They are absolutely gorgeous and smell heavenly. Your photos are always beautiful.

Love peonies unfortunately too dry where I live for them to survive. Beautiful, beautiful work as always Kim. Going to check the links for the printing company. I am trying Blurb for a book but don't know how that is going to work out yet.

As always, your post brightens my day. I think I need peonies in my yard, too! Your photos are so dreamy. Loved the Print Studio site -- the 4x4 prints and frames especially! Thank you for all you do.

LOVE your peonies!!! Peonies always remind me of my mother who delighted in them and so she brought up two plants from California to Oregon and then dug in the dirt with her hands in the hot summer heat in order to plant them. She passed last July, but the peonies bloomed leaving a reminder of mom's love.

Thanks for the memories!

Beautiful peonies Kim and the 4x4 prints came out so nice! What a great opportunity this is. Thank you for the contest! Congrats to whoever wins!

I love peonies. This year the rain devastated mine before I could cut any blooms for photos. I just planted more, so maybe next year.
July 11, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterSuzanne
Love me some peonies...any flower for that matter. My zinnias are absolutely gorgeous right now...and I can't think of anything I love more to photograph (smile). HAPPY WEEKEND TO ALL!
July 11, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterCindy
We don't have any peonies this summer (backyard is ripped up =() so I get to live vicariously through your pictures, Kim!!
July 11, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterJordan Blackstone
Love your 4x4 prints and I love peonies. I just wish they weren't so short-lived. Thanks for the chance at winning the gift certificate!

Hi Kim. I echo everyone's sentiments about peonies. I didn't think they were all that pretty until I saw your photos! Sadly, I went looking for some around my little town in SD and they are done blooming! The florist told me that they would be $4 apiece if I wanted to order a couple! Ouch! I'll just have to plan better next year...or maybe plant my own! Thanks. Have a great weekend!
July 11, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterLinda Chaplin
I love peonies, too, but they don't grow down here in Florida. Thanks for the info on Print Studio. I'll have to give them a shot! (was that a pun?) Have a fantastic weekend!
July 11, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterDannie
I'm loving my prints too. I've started a bowl in the living room with them in it - I'll keep adding to it so when guests come they can sift through them if they like.

Kim,
I'm so excited to see these adorable prints and can't wait to try printing some of my own! the perfect size to make a card or hang around the house like you said. I found 4x4 frames at Wal-mart and had to buy some...now I know I need prints to put in them -- they will be so cute! thanks for the chance to win and for sharing this company with us.

on peonies...i actually just got a new (my 2nd) tattoo 2 weeks ago...it's a peony on my shoulder! we have them in our backyard and i just love them...never really thought about that type of flower before we lived in this house. it will always remind me of living here and the good times we had. i have to say, i think i'm in love with the tattoo and can't stop looking at it. i'm so proud of it and want to show it off! it's shades of pink and just so pretty.

thanks for sharing your peonies with us!
