My Friday Finds - Places & Faces

This week..... our friend Curtis is back at a Port in the Storm.... with his Dad who is also fighting cancer..... Curtis is a talented musician... He's amazing in front of the camera.....always willing to pose for us..... Gosh I wish I was so eager to have my photo taken.......

In honor of being brave......a little picture proof I was a part of this whole Winnipeg thing.... I posed with Curtis. Thanks Bryce for taking the photo!!

Bryce posed with Curtis too. Bryce is pretty amazing in front of the camera himself.... I'm so glad he's not like his Mama in that department....

Back to my Friday Find...

We went looking for a cool spot to take some pictures the other day .....and found an awesome old warehouse.... Could that green door be any more perfect? Wow.... I can't stop talking about it. I gotta get the boys over there before winter comes.

The green...the brick... the industrial feel... LOVE... just LOVE.

What about you..... have you discovered any amazing locations lately? I'd love to hear about them.

One more find....

Curtis' album is on iTunes... I love it. Click HERE to have a listen.... Enjoy.

Before I go.......An Update

Thank you for all the comments and email (I'm still working my way through). How blessed am I to be so supported? Honestly.... it's almost impossible to wrap my head around... Please... please know... I am truly and forever grateful.

I'm slowly finding my way out of the slump I've been in.....  I'm not quite there...but I did laugh several times today.... That's a start.... Right? :)

I want to say a special thank you to the groupies..... You know who you are. I cried like a baby today......The kind of cry that makes you gulp for air? I could not believe you would think of us so generously on Canadian Thanksgiving....

Yet again....another gift?!!!? I wish I could sit down with all of you ..... just to talk and share, dream and scheme....BE together!! Someday!! I pray!!

Thank you!!

John has hit the wall..... the effects of intense chemo and radiation are in full force..... The lining of his mouth and throat have broken down..... Morphine is barely touching the pain..... I pray it starts to heal soon. All in time... This, unfortunately is part of the pro-cess......

As hard as it's been... he's staying strong and faithful... I'm so proud of him! He wants me to say a sincere thanks for all your thoughts and prayers...... He is very grateful.....

Okie doke....sweet friends.... Please feel free to link up your Friday Find below....... Seeing your images stream in....the BEST......

My heart truly goes out to you. Prayers to you and John. This is a hard journey and I'm thankful that our God will not let us be consumed by the fire or the flood waters. Hugs.

What a great "find" love those blue doors. I cannot imagine the pain your love must be in, but also the pain you must feel in watching him. Big hugs, hopefully the painful time passes swiftly for you two and the healing begins.
Hello, I hope you are surrounded by friends and family this holiday. You and John are in my Thanksgiving thoughts and prayers. Remember the quote 'This to shall pass'. Blessed be.

You certainly found a creatively inspiring backdrop for your shots. I love the weathered look. Fantastic photos of you and your friend. I do pray that your hubby pulls through this dark period in life. I hope you and yours can find the strength and faith you need to "weather" this storm. It occurs to me that that's why I love your industrial, weathered backdrop. Metaphorically, it might speaks to what you're going through now. Stay strong and keep faith.

Kim, I love your industrial background. Yesterday I discovered something similar just by chance, and I thought of you. Once again you've inspired me, and I plan to head downtown to get some shots. Unfortunately I don't have any great models... I'm sending heartfelt prayers and wishes to John that he gets through this quickly.

The green door is a wonderful backdrop for these shots. Nicely done! Thank you for the updates on your husband. Reading about your husband's struggle reminds me to treasure my own husband and be thankful for our many blessings. Thank you for sharing your stories.

Kim, my thoughts are with you and John on this Thanksgiving. I'm sending a hug to both of you, knowing that it doesn't really help. Sigh. I hope that the pain eases for John, that the chemo will help, that he can heal and fully recover.

Dear kim I know how hard it is to watch a loved one in severe pain and to be able to do nothing, my eldest son has brittle bones as I do, the last seven years he has had 17 fractures in his spine he has been on morphine and lots of drugs he has looked terrible and was no longer my naughty happy son (he is an adult but still very naughty) he just wasn't the person I knew. For the last 18 months he has been trying a new drug and the last couple of months my boy has returned he isn't in pain anymore he has been able to cut the drugs down and he is back to the son I was knew the joy at seeing him return is wonderful. I pray john is soon recovered and you get your john back and your life can return.
I follow your blog as I love your photos my youngest son is studying photography so I just look on in wonder at your work. Much love my prayers go out to you all xx
