My Friday Finds

why thank you..... little lovely..... aren't you just picture perfect?

Welcome to The Exchange District...... Before all 'this'.... I'd only heard of it... but never visited. Oh my... I had no idea!

Seriously... I wish you all could fly here for a photo's 'picture perfect'...... And absolutley endless.....

This morning.... I took a walk, to check it out....  with only my iPhone. Oh my gosh..... I could not wait to return....big girl camera in hand. I zipped back this evening....but the days are getting shorter..... and evening began to fall.... and oh my...... did some colorful characters begin to appear.

I was heading for home....(it started feeling sketchy)...when some guy in a food truck told me I better hold tight to my camera.....  Let's just say....that made me pick up my pace.

I'm thinking mornings may be safer.... but probably not quite so interesting.

Here's a few of the characters I saw......(yay for the 70-200 lens)

I can't wait to go back again.... It's fantastic..... So much more to see and show.....

A Quick Update on John

John's still waiting for news on the stem cell transplant..... He was supposed to be finished chemo....but out of nowhere they called last Friday..... and wanted him back in for another round. We're praying this will be it.....until the transplant.... but honestly.... We just never know.

Playing in my head.... and off my lips..... over and over.....

One day at at time....

whatever will be.... will be.....

It's all going to be okay....

This too shall pass....

John was just beginning to get his strength back...and bang....he's back down again. It's the nastiest stuff....

But, we had a lovely day.... John's brother (his stem cell donor), his wife and their son.... were here for a visit....all the way from British Columbia.....A gift to see them....

So grateful......

It's time to call it a day....and begin again tomorrow. I hope you are well, dear friends......

Please share your Friday Finds below.....

Until next time..... gratitude... always....

You captured the character and charm of the area so well. I wish I could go on a photo retreat with you. I definitely would want to stop by the Cake-ology shop for a sweet treat!
Best wishes to John. I pray that all turns out well.

Interesting people there, Kim !
Beautiful street photos, the Cake-ology one is amazing and
the last one looks like a movie scene, just gorgeous !

Sorry to hear about John, wishing him all the best, thinking of you both,

I like to visit places like that. I love the interesting people as well. I always feel a little smug when I photograph there. As if they might think I feel like I'm visiting a zoo and they are there for my pleasure. I think they are just going about their lives though. Just like I am. And, when I think about it I remember that I am an interesting character as well.

What a wonderful idea for a photo retreat! Maybe we could make this our headquarters!

Thanks for showing us around such a cool place but be careful out there!

Best wishes being sent your way in hopes that this will be the final round of chemo for John, hang in there!

Keeping you and John in my thoughts. Another mantra to add:
you will get to the other side of this . . . there is another side, and you will emerge there one day.

Sadly I don't have any 'finds' to share this week. Strange, huh? But I did want to stop and tell you that your street photography is awesome! I believe it has added another dimension to your photography. And I pray for you and John every day. Be strong.

Wonderful street photography! So different from anything I've seen of your work. Love it!
The Exchange is a fun area. There are a couple of interesting antique shops in there; don't know if you've found them yet. And, by the way, the cakes at Cake-ology are excellent!
So sorry to hear the latest about John. I'm thinking of you both.
