Hello lovelies....
How are you? Oh my goodness... I am so longing for spring! Longing to photograph flowers and the dew on the grass... 'sigh'
I have been seeing the most amazing floral images around 'town'... Wow!! Just so beautiful.
I just about flipped when I visited my friend Lorraine's site, Paper Bird... you gotta check out her latest post! Wowzer!! She is so rocking the textures!! Her floral images are BEYOND!! love..LOVE.. love!!
I bought a lovely spring bouquet yesterday but I haven't had a chance to photograph them yet. :(
Tomorrow.. I must!!
I desperately needed an image to share with today's magic pack... I had floral images in mind when I was creating them. But they will work on all kinds of images...
I know they don't look like much... but trust me.. they are so cool!
If you are new to magic textures... the trick is to apply them using screen blend mode.... You gotta try it!
They create that drybrushed effect...the second one will create a fabulous soft frame around your image as well! Depending on your photo, you may need a few layers to get the effect you need.
Just a note...if they seem to do nothing at all to your image... try a different image...some photos seem to repel the 'magic'....
I used both of these textures on the image above... an image I dug outta the archives I must confess.... 'sigh'...

Again, thank you so much! After your skinny-mini course, I have so much more confidence about trying things on Elements. Before, I had only wished that I could learn to add textures (other than with Picnik), and now I play with them all the time. In fact, it's easy for me to spend way too much time at the computer---as if I wasn't already. I still want to learn how to get a result like your Dream photo above.....desaturated color, dreamy, soft, textured.

I am hearing such good things about your skinny mini e class..I love textures and they save my work so often..I am never going to be the worlds best photographer but, I want to produce first class art photography...I enjoyed our conversation about Tx. and look forward to taking from the master of texture...or is it mistress of texture? I am downloading and saving the freebies..don't know yet what to do with them..but , I will have them when I do learn.
