How 'Bout a Little Magic?

Hello lovelies....

How are you?  Oh my goodness...  I am so longing for spring!  Longing to photograph flowers and the dew on the grass... 'sigh'

I have been seeing the most amazing floral images around 'town'...  Wow!!  Just so beautiful.

I just about flipped when I visited my friend Lorraine's site, Paper Bird...  you gotta check out her latest post! Wowzer!!  She is so rocking the textures!!  Her floral images are BEYOND!!  love..LOVE.. love!!

I bought a lovely spring bouquet yesterday but I haven't had a chance to photograph them yet. :(

Tomorrow.. I must!!

I desperately needed an image to share with today's magic pack...  I had floral images in mind when I was creating them. But they will work on all kinds of images...

I know they don't look like much... but trust me.. they are so cool!

If you are new to magic textures...  the trick is to apply them using screen blend mode....  You gotta try it!

They create that drybrushed effect...the second one will create a fabulous soft frame around your image as well! Depending on your photo, you may need a few layers to get the effect you need.

Just a note...if they seem to do nothing at all to your image... try a different image...some photos seem to repel the 'magic'....

I used both of these textures on the image above... an image I dug outta the archives I must confess....  'sigh'...

Spring... come to me. :) Puleeeeeeese....

Dear Kim- you are ever so kind.
I have to say I owe it all to you!
Everything I learned about textures I learned from your Skinny MIni- E course.
I can hardly wait for the Art Of Texture- I know it will be amazing!

I love your dream image- so beautiful!

Again, thank you so much! After your skinny-mini course, I have so much more confidence about trying things on Elements. Before, I had only wished that I could learn to add textures (other than with Picnik), and now I play with them all the time. In fact, it's easy for me to spend way too much time at the computer---as if I wasn't already. I still want to learn how to get a result like your Dream photo above.....desaturated color, dreamy, soft, textured.

Kim, I cheriish your images - they bring a such a positive message of life. You have a very poetic style and photographic 'eye'. Through your blog and images, I am coming more to understand the process and necessity of using the appropriate photographic image with your textures. It is my hope that I will be able to take your Art of Texture course in the future...
Thank you so much for sharing your gift!

I love these textures. What a nice surprise to find them in my inbox upon waking up this morning on this gray day. And they went perfectly with the pictures I took while still in my pajamas.

Hi Kim,

Beautiful florals and I so need to see them with all this dreary winter weather! I didn't get an email w/this magic (I have Magic and Magic 2.) Tried to sign up again but it said I was signed up, so just wondering if email hasn't been sent or if there's a glitch w/mine. Have a great day!
