Learn Textures in Ten Minutes - a Free eCourse Offering and More

Hello, sweet friends....

I'm sitting here...bout ready to burst...with a secret. :)

I can't tell you quite yet....'sigh'...

But, I do have some good stuff for you today...

2 new Textures...

and....  are you ready for it?

a new and FREE instant access eCourse!

My new mini photoshop eCourse

'Learn Textures in Ten' is ready and waiting for all the texture newbies out there!

I'm pretty proud of this announcement...seeing as I just came up with the idea last night, in bed, while I should have been fast asleep....

Check out all the details HERE

Okay on to my new texture offering...  Today we are getting grungy...and warming things up.

Two lovelies for you today my friends....

Check out my sweet fence...taken this past was snowing very lightly...super hazy...and really quite fab!

mouse over to see the before image.

I simply added a layer of 'paper love' at soft light...lowered the opacity a little...

and wowzer...great tones. :)

0h, i used both of today's textures on the red shed image above....  play with them....they work great together.

Today's Textures are $4.00 until Friday....Click below to grab 'em up....

I can't sign off without sharing a little Julia Cameron inspiration....

Love this excerpt from Artist's Way - Every Day for January 8th.

It is never too late to start over. It is never past the point of no return for our artist to recover. We can heap years, decades, a lifetime of insult upon our artist and it is so resilient, so powerful and so stubborn that it will come back to life when we give it the smallest opportunity.

Good stuff .... right? Whatchya think?  Pretty powerful?  Share your thoughts... I'd love to hear....

Okie doke...  I'm out...  must get back to my Essentials eCourse lessons.  Wow... it's an awesome group!! I'm totally loving it!!

Please tell you friends about my Learn Textures in Ten' eCourse.....and if you are new to textures...come check it out!

The more the merrier....

Back spill my fabulous secret...... until then...

Love & Gratitude.....

xxo, Kim

I don't know where I have been - but I sure have missed your great site until now. I have been stumbling along - self taught - on my own and Voila - here comes Kim. I am in the middle of the skinnymini and lovin it! And Kim - I have to say this - you have a great voice for teaching. Cheerful - relaxed and friendly - I love your approach. Thanks so much for being willing to share all of this great information with all of us! I am going to post this newest FREE class on Facebook. Everyone needs to know about all the goodness at Kim Klassen's Cafe.

Is this a class that we 'skinny mini' people should be taking? I can't believe how much I've learned in a week!

Thank you so much for that quote. As a child I was never without my pad and pencil or paints or charcoals.
After a very bad 25 year marriage I lost the inspiration to even try to draw or paint. My present husband is always telling me I have a talent and I should take it up again. I even bought a small canvas and my son gave me a box of paints (he is quite talented too). I haven't been able to pick up a brush in case I fail. I have just now, thru your classes found a new outlet to create. After reading this quote I may even be inspired to add some paint to that small canvas. Or, maybe I'll make a texture first since I just started your Art of Texture course. I wonder if you have any idea just how much you touch and inspire so many people. Thank you.

What a treat! I'm looking forward to watching your Textures in Ten. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! Beautiful textures and I love the fence image. Linear perspective is such a powerful design element. Have a wonderful, creative day!

Kim these textures are so perfect for me today! I can't wait to try them and hopefully use them in a post later. I love the" warmth" (it's chilly here this morning) and "grungy-ness" (I have the day off, so I'm dressed pretty grungy) :-)
Its a good day to work on my PS skills in your Essentials class, & do a post. Oh, and I'm off to my garage, where I know I have a copy of The Artist's Way, I bought it a long time's time to read it again! Thank you!

Hi Kim, I've sure been enjoying your site...I have finally learned to apply a texture in PSE...only took me a year to find your 10 minute tutorial...I also use them in Picasa and I blogged about using one again today...thought you might want to see it. Eventually I will use PSE but right now Picasa is just so much quicker for me...Becky
