Life is Good

mouse over to view the before image

Happiest friday.

How was your week?  I hope wonderful.

I found this sweet, happy cup at Winners yesterday. Isn't it just perfect?.... Winners is a Canadian store, very similar to TJ Max. You just never know what you may find. :)

I used today's freebie texture set to soft light blend mode 75% opacity on the image above. That's it.

Today's texture is called 'life's good'.

Texture Lovin' Listers your download link is coming shortly.

Not on my list? You can sign up HERE if you wanna start receiving freebie textures.

Here's the same image, but I added a black and white adjustment layer, then lowered the opacity to bring back some of the color.

and one more image with this sweet cup ...  all on it's own...textured with one of the 30 in 30 textures that I think you all are going to LOVE.

Oh speaking of the 30 in 30 collection. I have had lots of email about it.  Yes, the new textures will be released as a set. They should be ready for purchase, early March.

'sigh'...so excited.

I have also had several emails about my 'white' images....  have you noticed i'm on a bit of white kick?

Anyhow, we painted our guest room white. it has 2 huge windows...you know the kind of windows you find in antique houses...big and long... The old wood floor, the ceiling, the walls and the bedding are white.  All the white allows colors to POP beautifully. I also use foam core as a backdrop and drape a soft thin sheet over the window if it's really sunny. I have the coolest tin wash tub with a fab lid that I use as a table. Basically that's my set up.  It does the trick. It's amazing what good light and lots of white can do both for photos and a person's mood.  Especially this time of year. :)

Okie doke.  I'm off to send out the texture link.

I'm over at Shutter Sisters today...if you have a moment, pop over and say HI.

See you soon....xxo, Kim

Love it! I have a cup just like that, only mine says, um, "Crazy cat lady." But, Life is Good, especially since i have had sunshine for two days and yesterday, I saw robins!

Thank you! I have some magenta(?) mini carnations and I'm going to play around some! I have NO light in my house, but I put a big white poster on my recycling trunk under the south window and put up a tri-fold foam core presentatin board. It doesn't always work, but it's better than nothing.

Beautiful images....special cup!

I love your textures and have been playing with them like crazy. I check out Shutter Sisters every morning and I knew it was your photo even before I got to the bottom, beautiful as always. I live in Canada as well so I am very familiar with the Winner's experience, lots of great finds.

I am so curious to hear the details of Camp Shutter Sisters, any idea when they will be released?

Oh, I love the new texture, Kim~~I can't wait to try it! As others have said, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity!!!

Sigh~~I wish I had painted my walls white or off white when I bought my condo a few years ago. Instead, it's painted in what I call Easter Egg colors. Pretty, but not neutral :~( And I don't paint and can't afford to have it redone, so I live in Spring year round, which isn't really that bad, is it? :~)

I anxiously await the debut of your 30 in 30 and I will probably have to buy them :~)

Thanks for sharing your "set up" ideas. I've been wondering about that, too. Looking around my house to figure out how I could put "a spot" together. You just shortened up my thinking time! You Rock!

Kim! I have signed up for the class... hope I know how to "unzip". I have a plethora of photos and the "how to" books I purchased for my CS5 are for the birds. I tried implementing a texture with a rose photo of mine and after 30 minutes I was a basket case...

I am REALLY looking forward to this class. I will work really hard at it!

Thanks,
