My Week via Instagram & a Little Give Away

Hello lovelies... thank you for the sweet get-well notes and emails....  So kind....truly... thank you.

I am feeling human again. No idea where that came from.... Ugh.... Thankfully Ben was willing to snuggle up all day yesterday... and help me get better. Phew.....

Just thought I'd share a little of my past few days...via iPhone and Instagram......

Tell me... are you on instagram? Great's now available for android phones..... So why not join us... :)

I just received Ann's new book..... Reflections from One Thousand Gifts. I just know I am going to LOVE it..... This book is a collection of passages from her first book..... I love books with little snippets that seem to be written just for me.... :)

And just cause.... a little snap of a kitchen corner....

My new screensaver..... inspired by this week's Beyond Layer's letter.

I also love this book..... very inspired.

Lovely light shining through my orchid...... 'sigh'

By the lake...with Mr. Ben.... Have I mentioned how much I love him? :)

And in he went.....  see the geese and seagulls.... they are standing on ice... Why would he want to swim in there? Brrr....

Resting up....  until the next walk.... Could he be any cuter? :)

Pink Eggs... just cause....

You can find me HERE on instagram..... my user name is kimklassen.

How 'bout a give away...

I'd love to mail a copy of Ann's new book to one of you.... Share a comment below....stating something you are thankful for......

I will announce the winner this weekend when I post the weekly texture.

Please be sure to enter your email address in the comment form, so I can get in touch.

Before I sign off.....

There's still time to sign up for another round of Beyond Layers......

Here's what Diane Foster from Studio 56 said about the class..... Thank you Diane... so sweet... 'sigh'...

Beyond Layers e-course with Kim Klassen is truly beyond fabulous. Kim is an incredible artist who teaches about capturing great images and then adding techniques and textures in Photoshop. The joy of taking an online course caught me by surprise. I have enjoyed working at my own pace in the comfort of my studio. As I pondered the prompt for this week, "If not now, when", I was inspired to capture this image. Finding goodness.Finding health.Finding happiness!

Click HERE to visit the Beyond Layers site.

Until next time....xo,

I am thankful I found the courage to pursue what makes me happy despite so many obstacles. I am thankful I have a wonderful husband who is always there for me no matter what. I am thankful for all my new online connections. I am thankful for meeting so many talented, encouraging, and gracious friends online. You are all truly amazing!
I'm thankful for the moments when my creativity flows. I am also thankful for those times when my creativity is stifled...because that's usually when I learn something new.

Be well, Kim.

I have the simple abundance book too and love dipping into it. Ben is way too cute. We have two cats but will be getting a black lab pup at the end of April. I'm sure it will be crazy but fun . . . can't wait. Great giveaway, wishing everyone the best of luck.

I'm thankful right now, in our seven inches of unseasonal snow, that change is the stuff of life, and nothing (love excepted) lasts forever!

I am thankful for the gifts we are given, the wisdom to use them well, the humility to be grateful for them and the compassion to share them with others.

I am thankful for the simple things, family, friends and life.

Simple Abundance is my all-time favourite book. It came to me during a difficult time in my life and I truly believe it saved my sanity. It is yellowed, dog-eared, coffee-stained and the ribbon book mark is in shreds (I caught it in the vacuum cleaner one day :). So, I am thankful for all the Simply Abundant things I have in my life - my health, my family, my home(s), food, books, computers, online classes . . . oops - it seems I'm writing in my Gratitude Journal! Happy Easter, Kim! and thank you for all you do!

I am thankful that I got home from helping daughter and family with the new baby before my hubby had his accident. I am also very thankful that our National Health programs allowed us to receive, on loan and free of charge, a wheelchair and several other things he will be needing over the next couple of months while recovering. We are so blessed to have each other at times like this. He nursed me through a bad time and now it's my turn to help him through his recovery. Life is good......

I am thankful that my 6 year old son, Braeden, is able to play his first sport ever this springk. He was born with a severe handicap and there was a chance something like playing sports would not have happened for him...but he's going to play, yea...

Well, gee whiz, my instagram photos look nothing like these . . . I don't think I have the hang of it yet. For some reason, I am always snapping unwanted photos of my feet :-} I wake up everyday being thankful for another day to get it right or to at least try too. Nooo, not taking that picture . . . choosing right path, the right direction on this journey we call life.

I am thankful for photography as it has rekindled my creativity and pulled me out of years of depression. No more medications, just a camera and ability to see the world as beautiful again.

So glad you are on the mend Kim. Love the Simple Abundance book.

I am grateful for the fact that after a year of treatment, my last chemo uptake will be on May 22, 2012! AND I AM STILL HERE!
I am also thankful for being a part of the Beyond Layers experience. You know Kim, I came across your website quite by accident a year and a half ago. I signed up for the Texture Tuesday even though I hadn't taken photographs for a long time and didn't know anything about Photoshop. I figured, well one day I will do this and will be glad I signed up. Well, I was busy with this and that and didn't really do anything with photography of even open up Photoshop. Then the whole cancer thing hit me. Throughout the course of surgeries and treatment I began asking myself "If Not Now, When?" about a lot of stuff. Then the Beyond Layers offering came through my email and I went for it! Best decision I ever made. The Beyonders are a wonderful supportive group, I'm taking pictures constantly, and have even taught my husband a thing or two about Photoshop! And if all that wasn't enough to be grateful for - I was able to sign up for Camp Shutter Sisters this year!!!!! Too cool. Love is awesome!

I'm totally thankful that my brain MRI came back normal & that there's nothing wrong with my pituitary gland. That was a scary few days! So glad it's over, and that I won't be having a doctor drill into my scull & dig around in my brain!!! :)
