Spring Blossoms - And a Little Give Away ... Just Because

number 1

Hello sweet friends....

How was your week?

I hope fabulous!!  We are finally getting spring weather.... In fact yesterday was almost HOT. :)

And it was absolutely WONDERFUL.

(I'm going to pretend they are not forecasting rain for the entire May Long Weekend.....'sigh')

number 2

Anyhow, I had to pop in and share the first of our little town's blossoms.  Ben and I went biking by this tree yesterday....and I could not believe it!!  The beautiful pink blossoms had started to open..... It's amazing!  Just this past weekend...the tree leaves weren't even open.... 'sigh'.  Ben and I took a drive around town after our bike ride....scouting for other blossoms....but we found just this one tree so far.....

number 3

I have no idea who the tree owner's are....but I did sneak a few snaps.....  I am hoping to go back for more.... all shots were taken with the fab 70-200....It came in handy as I didn't want to walk right into their front yard....

Don't you love spring blossoms?  'sigh'...of course you do...  they are sooo very beautiful. Oh my gosh... i can not wait for the lilacs. :)

So today....just for fun.... I'm asking for your vote.... what processing style do you like the best....  these images are a sweet example of the magic of photoshop... that's for sure.... image 1, 2, 3 or 4?

And I thought... why not have a little give away fun!!  :)

I'm giving away.....

-a 4 month membership to the Test Kitchen ($25.00 value) to one random winner....

-a One Year Flickr Pro Account ($24.95 value) to the second randomly drawn winner.

To Enter, simply add your vote in the comments below. Image 1, 2, 3, or 4......

The winner will be announced on Thursday, May 26th.

number 4

And while you are here....and placing your 'vote'....  Do Tell! What are your big weekend plans?  Oh, by the it May Long in other parts of the world...or just Canada? I know I ask this every year. :)

I'm pretty sure most of you will have a little more excitement planned than us!  John is on call, so we will be staying close to home....and if it rains.... I suppose the house will be a little cleaner before the weekend ends.... I'm hoping to take my camera to our local greenhouse and snap some pics....  That's always inspiring....

I do have 4 fabulous new books to explore (just arrived from amazon today...perfect timing I must say).... so perhaps next week I will have some reading suggestions for you all!

Hoping your weekend is truly INSPIRED....

xxo, Kim

I think I like number one because it seems to pop out at me the most.

I like #3 the best. Thanks for the giveaway. My plans are to play with my new puppy and maybe tackle a paint job I have been putting off on some barstools.

Love #2

2 gets my top vote but the dreamy feel in 4 is a very close second.
My weekend is full of textbooks and intense studies though I dream of painting the walls instead.
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered Commenter~Kristina
Number two is my fave. Very clean, simple with slight pop of color.
My weekend plan are to do nothing, just relax and spend time with my three babies <3

I love image number 3 -- the brown, green and pink "present" nicely. Also the angle of the branches...... anyway that's my vote:) Thank you for your tutorials - its the only way I've been successful with ANYthing PSE...... and I use your textures almost daily...... even for just a tiny "tune up" - have a great weekend - Nicole - oh I'm going out to the lake after work Saturday. It is supposed to rain but what e v e r .........

Oh, it is so hard to decide, they are all so lovely. If forced, I would choose number 1. Our long weekend here is next weekend for Memorial Day,
It has been another week of rain, but today the sun came out and is supposed to shine through tomorrow, then back to rain. sigh!
Enjoy your weekend!

Such scrumptious and gorgeous bloom shots!!!! Here in the San Francisco Bay Area our blooms have come and gone so it's wonder to share yours. As for the weekend... I've got prepping I need to do for my niece's wedding. I'm doing all the flowers. Have a wonderful weekend! ~Cindy
#2 is my fav, nice bokah! In NJ the blossoms have come and gone :) My lilacs are almost done. Planning to be outside if the weather is nice this weekend since it has been raining all week!

I like #3, but I'm picking #4 as my fave!

Hubby and I are off for a weekend in the city - Seattle!- for my April birthday celebration. He always plans a great time so although I had to wait, it's bound to be delicious and interesting.

Have a good one!

I love the softness of #4.
A garden wedding tomorrow, and hopefully a call to photograph a birth sometime this weekend, Sunday would be nice, don't want to have to choose. Makes my heart sing!!! Enjoy your spring!!

Oh, I like #2! Just think in a few more days, the blooms will be fuller! Ours blooming trees are long gone, just green and bushy now! Great photos, Kim! And have a great weekend too!
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLisa Bivona
Tough choice but I'll go with number 2. Love the pink and all the bokeh.

This weekend we have lots of kid games and soccer games. The craziness will be welcomed after a week of rainouts!
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMichelle
#2 most definitely
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterConnie Harriman
I go for 4 :)
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKat
They are all glorious, but I'm partial to Image #2.
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterRowena
I gotta say I'm torn between #2 and #4 but if I really have to choose only one then my vote goes to ...... uh!!! ....... um!!!! .... errrrrrr!!!! ......okay! okay! my vote goes to #4! :-D
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDiane
Oh gosh, 2 or 3?.... 2 or 3?!!!!! I'm going to say 2- but they all are breathtaking. The green is just too irrisistable as I live in the desert and things are starting to heat up and dry out.... Therefore, for our long May week-end at the end of the month we will enjoy some out of town company and spend a lot of time in/near the pool. Enjoy it whatever your plans!
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterkerrianne
I'm torn between number 1 and number 3. I LOVE the pretty pink tones of number 1 but I also love the pop of green in number 3 - it's so springy!!

So many giveaways today! I have one going on, too, if you'd like to check it out. :)

I like number 2 Kim. May holiday weekend is time for planting annuals in Quebec. I am planting most areas of our garden with white impatiens. Love white. Wishing you happy Victoria Day and happy shooting!
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBonnie
My favorite is # 2. Like the purple bokeh.

Tomorrow I am walking in the National Alliance on Mental Illness Walk for The Mind of America which is an annual, nationwide fundraising and mental health awareness walk. The walk takes place in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD (and others all around the country).

NAMI does great work to eliminate the stigma of mental illness, provide education to the mentally ill and their families free of charge and sponsor free support groups for those with mental illness and family/friends. Great weather expected. Yay!
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKathe
I like the colours of number 2. We are having a May holiday next weekend, called May Bank Holiday (UK)
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJulia R
Love, love, love #4!!! Love the pale greens and soft pinks...when I dream of spring, this is what I see in my minds eye.

Tomorrow we'll be going on the henside the Beltline Tour D'Coop then on Sunday I'm meeting a friend to photograph at The Bog Garden...such a wonderful and fun filled weekend!

May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKatherine
I vote for number 2 - beautiful, light and colorful all at once. and we in the US have memorial day weekend next weekend - a long weekend. I'm soo excited, we have family come into town - lots of opportunity to photograph all the cousins and family and adventures :)
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAllison
They are all gorgeous but I'm leaning toward #1.

My daughter (4) is starting dance lessons on Saturday and all the kids start swim classes. After that I'm doing some yarn shop hopping this weekend with a friend and my sister. Whee!
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJulie
I LOVE the softness of number 4, so calm and relax, so BEAUTIFUL!
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMaryvel
I like #3 the best, with the pop of green at the bottom, and the overall contrastiness (haha is that a word?). Weekend plans? Hmmm, nothing special, maybe work on some mosaic projects (my other hobby).
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterEllen Olson
Oh Kim I think your photos are lovely! If I were you I'd print them in a series and hang them all together. If I had to pick I think the first image has my vote. It has such a wonderful dreamy quality.

So next weekend is our long weekend in the States, Memorial Day is celebrated on the 30th of May. No big plans here as of yet. Hopefully the weather will be warm and sunny and we can get out and play and plant in the yard.

Thanks for hosting another give away. I'll keep my fingers crossed that my number comes up!

May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBarbara
At first I thought #3. Then "for sure" #2. No I'm waffling between 1 & 2..... hmmmm.

I guess.... # (after another look)...2. By a close margin!

Plans this weekend is to SPRING CLEAN. And make a few trips from my son's school and start bringing his stuff home so that the last day of checkout from the University isn't so crazy. And I LOVE your idea of visiting a greenhouse for photography. I might do that too. Of course, I will buy something... :) Thanks for the tip.

It's a tough choice, but will go with number 4.

Will spend THIS week end washing and clipping dogs for NEXT week end's big Memorial week end dog show.
Enjoy your week end!

Hands down....#1 Love the Hue!
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMelaine
I love them all, but number 4 is just dreamy! So yeah, number 4 gets my vote. Spring blossoms are my favorite - shy and delicate, but so full of life. They make me happy after a long winter.
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered Commenteri.ikeda
number 2 for me... the harmony of pink and green is just so refreshing! Gardening this week-end and enjoying the tulips in my front yard. :)
May 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterOlga
