{Weekend Texture} Book Love.... Let the Give Aways Begin

Hello dear friends,

How are you? I hope your weekend was just right...... Mine was sweet.... a little of this and a little of that. Bryce was home...so nice.... John and I had a breakfast date on Saturday....did a little shopping.... tookbeautiful walks on the frosty trail with the pups.... perfect winter weather..... a good weekend....

I have a confession to share.....
Christmas snuck up on me this year.... Big time!I had a 12 days of  Christmas idea for the Café.... and ummm, I ran out of days. No idea how that happened....I am not kidding.... Yesterday I realized just how close Christmas is..... had a moment of panic.... But as always, what gets done, get's done. It's all good... right? 

tell me I'm right!! :)

Side note...I posted a holiday photo in Instagram today....and through a series of comments, including one from Holly (soupatraveler) a new hashtag was born-  #ohcrapitsalmostchristmas..... too funny..... you can check out the thread here. 

Anyhow, because I didn't get the 12 day thing going as planned.... I must make it up to you....

I thought I'd do a few assorted give aways over the next week and a bit......starting today..... 

I'm in love with the book in my up-top photo... The Natural Home.... I've given a copy away here before. It inspires me every single time I open it. In fact I lost myself in it today..... poof....an hour passed by.....head spinning.....so many photo ideas.

Hello beautiful friends....

Just a little peek a boo at my holiday decorating...

I was hoping to take more pictures today....and then our fridge quit... Ugh... But thankfully John is a fixer.... and I do believe he has it all under control. Gotta love a man who can fix things!

And one who brings home antiques scales like this sweet thing.... :)

Anyhow, the fridge dilemma stole my lovely light today.... So hopefully tomorrow brings better luck. :)

Here's a little peek..... at a few corners of our dining room. I've been printing several of my recent images..... framing them in basic black frames.....

Really loving it!

I have lots more to share.... over the next few days...... I HEART holiday decorating.

{Texture Tuesday} Let's Celebrate

It's time for another Texture Tuesday! 

Our theme is Celebrate! 

....

Here are this week's TT challenge details.

• Your image must contain at least one layer of any of my textures and be centered around the word celebrate.

That's it...that's all.

I edited my photos in RadLab and then applied a layer of 'Phoebe'...and some text. I set the blend mode to soft light and then added a final levels adjustment, as well as a hue/sat adjustment to tone down the yellow in the texture.

Here's a few more from the shoot.... each textured with 'phoebe'....

Before we get to linking....I have a couple of announcements. 

First, This will be the final TT of 2011. This is our 47th TT! Can you believe that? 
Bravo, my friends.... Well done! 

I will announce the first theme for 2012 and the restart date after Christmas.... so check back for that. I thought it'd be nice to take a break, so you all can enjoy the season. And maybe, just maybe that will give me a chance to pop around and see more of your amazing texture work!

Second....I'm so excited about this.....  bursting actually.... seriously....bursting!

thankfully my mom and my aunt do all kinds of holiday baking.  so i have very little i “have” to do.  but there’s nothing sweeter than the smell of fresh baking thru the house, Christmas music in the background and twinkle lights around. 

so today is dedicated to a little baking, making some nuts & bolts (my husband loves his nuts & bolts) and perhaps some gift wrapping as well….
