Hello friends,

Happiest Sunday.... How's your weekend? Mine seemed to zip by.... in a poof....of work, meal-making, and doggy walking...... 

The suns been shining bright all weekend... such a treat!! Big gratitude.... it's amazing what the sun can do for a person!

As you can see...we have a lot of snow already... it's definitely winter on the prairies.....

Instagram Love & a BTS Give Away Announcement

In case you missed yesterday's post....texture tuesday will be back next week.

In the meantime, it's been forever since I shared from my IG feed.

Everything is so darn lovely right now... spring blossoms..... the lilacs are intoxicating. And the monarchs love them too. There were about 20 of them hovering around this bush the other day.... I managed to capture a few before they fluttered off. So dreamy.

Saturday we took a trip to the greenhouse.... I haven't posted any of my in-greenhouse snaps, but this little treasure was in the shop section. Isn't it to die for? Oh my...... LOVE. 

Book love... Lens/camera love.....

I organized my studio shelves a week or so ago.... all the books have been put into categories. Anyhow, I thought it was picture worthy. 

As I mentioned the other day...it's colour month at Shutter Sisters. Here is my pink contribution. Be sure to pop over and play along. We are giving away a lovely epiphanie bag at the end of the month!! 

We've had some lovely summer days... Finally....

Here's Sophie taking a dip in the lake.... Ben was off to the side sniffing something I think.

Lady of the Lake always has wonderful 'stuff' outside the front doors.... Love this old wrought iron headboard amongst the blossoms.

John and I have been sitting on the front porch swing as often as we can....Here's a snap of the porch... (swing view) 

I honestly don't remember where I took this pic.... but it's lovely I think.

{iPhoneography} Our Week Squared

Hello Lovelies,

Tell me, how was your week?

Mine was fast and fab.....  But as always....everyday... no matter the weather... we walked our daily walks. 4 miles in the afternoon and another 3 in the evening. It's just what we do. If the weather would warm up, Ben and I would swap one of our walks for a bike ride.... But it's been really quite wet and cool this past month. I'm definitely ready for some sun. 

Anyhow, here's my favorite tree on the trail... the tree that started this whole photography thing for me.... The sky was daunting... a storm was rolling in.....  I took a quick pic.... Can you see Ben across from the tree on the right? 

Sophie got a haircut this week... Here she is by one of the ponds they like to dip in..... right now it's nice... but as the weather warms up...it can get a little stinky.... 'sigh'

My favorite section of the trail by far.... a path of trees....  it fills in beautifully in the summer.... Really so peaceful. Ben's the little speck in the center. :)

I didn't have a lot of time for setting up stills and taking pics with my Nikon this week... but I took a few snaps here and there with my phone..... and experimented with a few fav apps..... I love using down time to process images on my phone..... You know you love your work...when you walk away from it and proceed to do the same thing for fun!! :)

Oh and.....I started this book....I'm really looking forward to diving into it.... I've heard great things.

Let's see...... what else did I do this week, besides walk and work? 

We went to my parents on Monday for dinner.....to celebrate my birthday.... Thank you for all the lovely wishes, by the way. It was a quiet, but really good day. John and I are going out for dinner this evening.... a little belated birthday outing. Oh this morning we went to an auction sale and I snagged another antique typewriter for $10. It needs a little cleaning up... but it's a fab old underwood. I had my photography kids over to work on their projects. That was fun. I caught up with a dear friend...such a blessing. You know a true friend, when no matter how long you are apart, you can pick right back up where you left off... and not miss a beat. And finally.....I had several revelations this week...that seemed to break open a flood of new and exciting ideas.. I mean seriously BIG stuff. Burst.

WOW.... it really was such a FAB week.

Another Week via Instagram

Yep, I'm hooked...totally hooked on IG. It's the best thing about my iPhone.....  seriously....  'sigh'....capturing snippets of life... what a gift to look back on....

Things I'm lovin' these days.

• The new issue of Kinfolk. My oh my... LOVE. 
• Looking so forward to this class. Excited but a little scared too.... (in a good way)
• Finding space in the studio....slowly but surely....
• This book is beautifully inspired. Major eye candy.
• Loving the snippets of inspiration in Ann's book. So good.
• Photoshop CS6 Beta. Insanely awesome. Especially loved it today when I accidentally unplugged my system...... Fired it up again...reopened cs6 and all my work was there!! Yay for the autosave feature.
• Really enjoyed this virtual conference experience.
• Grateful for all of the new Beyonder's. And absolutely in love with the original Beyond group. It's been a life-changing experience. Big gratitude.

Things I am not lovin' these days. 

• That the tax deadline in Canada is April 30th....and umm, I have a lot to get organized.

My Life Squared - a Little Instagram Love

I mentioned last Sunday I was loving my iPhone and Instagram...... and I also mentioned I was considering a 365 project. I decided to say YES to the 365. (more on that in a moment).....

I thought it'd be fun to share some of my Instagram photos with you.... from the past few weeks...... and just say I am mad over iphoneography..... As you can see, I have a muse.... Yeppers, Mr. Ben dominates my instagram stream. And Sophie (Ben's 'cousin') makes lots of appearances too. Now and then you may see another family member or just something I love... But Ben is my muse.

'sigh'.... puppy love... he rules my heart.... 'smile'....

Here's the coolest part about iphoneography... the apps!! Oh my goodness, there are all kinds of image processing apps, that you can download, some are free some cost a little... But it's amazing! It literally turns your iPhone into this amazing creative tool. It's like photoshop on your phone. You can create art while waiting in line, sitting on the porch, lying in bed..... wherever you are..... click, click.... pick an app, and play!

If you are not an iPhone user, there are photo apps for Androids....and I also hear Instagram is coming to Androids this spring. :)

It's like journaling your life.... with a click of your iPhone.... Which leads me to the 365. It's so doable with the iPhone... atleast for me.... Why? because...my phone is with me at all times! We are one.... lol.... So it's pretty easy to click a pic or 2 or 3..... easy peasy.... 

One of my sweet readers shared a 365 app, so I am using it to 'journal' my images....it's awesome. Thank you again, Carla...

Here's the link.... since then I have discovered there are several other amazing 365 apps as well. I simply take my pic, and save it in the 365 app, and it pops the image right into the app calendar. I think it'll be so cool to look back at each month and see a calendar full of photos.... So far I have 7 calendar squares of Ben.

Here's a few more.... most are taken down at the lake and around the empty campground. The dogs LOVE it there... It's like there very own amusement park. 'smile'...
