Are you ready? the word is 'story'..... (I have 'story' on the brain....we are talking about our stories over at Beyond Layers....

I think this will be a fantastic prompt for TT. Lots of possiblities.

{Texture Tuesday} Let's Celebrate

It's time for another Texture Tuesday! 

Our theme is Celebrate! 

....

Here are this week's TT challenge details.

• Your image must contain at least one layer of any of my textures and be centered around the word celebrate.

That's it...that's all.

I edited my photos in RadLab and then applied a layer of 'Phoebe'...and some text. I set the blend mode to soft light and then added a final levels adjustment, as well as a hue/sat adjustment to tone down the yellow in the texture.

Here's a few more from the shoot.... each textured with 'phoebe'....

Before we get to linking....I have a couple of announcements. 

First, This will be the final TT of 2011. This is our 47th TT! Can you believe that? 
Bravo, my friends.... Well done! 

I will announce the first theme for 2012 and the restart date after Christmas.... so check back for that. I thought it'd be nice to take a break, so you all can enjoy the season. And maybe, just maybe that will give me a chance to pop around and see more of your amazing texture work!

Second....I'm so excited about this.....  bursting actually.... seriously....bursting!

In honor of YOU..... I have a holiday gift to share!

{Texture Tuesday} The Gratitude eDition Returns

This week is all about gratitude.....

And, I"m celebrating my sincere gratitude for each and every one of you!

For my before and after above, I used the latest freebie, that I'm totally loving.... 'poetic'... It's good stuff... for really really.... REAL!

I edited my image in Camera Raw...bumping up the exposure a little... for a soft dreamy feel. I then used a hue/saturation adjustment to get my tiny little fleurs...just the right shade of pink. And finally I added a layer of 'poetic' at soft light 100%. That's it...that's all.

{Texture Tuesday} Free & Easy eDition & A Give Away

It's time for another Texture Tuesday!

I'm in love with Christy's beautiful jewelry. I actually have 3 of her pieces....and I love each and every one. I photographed them, so I could share them with you today.

Of course I had to add a little 'texture lovin' to several of the photos..... I used 'music lovin' and 'phoebe' for my edits.....

I choose 'Soar' because it was my very first 'one word' ....and it really did change my life. 'Be Still' is a reminder I need often.....time just to 'be still and trust in God.' And finally, 'inspire'...well because, that's my BIG dream...to inspire others to live a dreamy, creative life.

I usually wear all three, because i just LOVE them all.

I needed a little cheer this evening.... so I pulled out a tea rose photo from the archives....  

My Photoshop Recipe:

Layer 1: background

Layer 2: black and white adjustment layer at about 75% opacity

Layer 3: duplicated the background and applied a gaussian blur filter at about 10. changed the blend mode to soft light.

Layer 4 & 5: Phoebe texture. One at soft light blend mode 100% and the other at multiply 22%.

Layer 6: Slight levels adjustment for a little pop.
