How are you? Happy Sunday. I hope you had a good weekend. Anything exciting going on in your world? Do tell... I love hearing what's new with all of you!

Today, I have a little start to finish video for my uptop photo to share.. along with a Lightroom overview video. 

My tulip photo was layered with 3 different textures from the Cloth & Paper Collection. In the video below I will walk you through the photoshop edit.

In other news.... my Round Trip class begins this Tuesday. This may be the last session before fall. Spring is quite busy, so I'm not sure if I will run another session til August/September. Anyhow, I've had many people curious about the program. Today's Lightroom video gives you a basic overview of the workflow from camera to lightroom to photoshop, along with a quick tour of the Lightroom interface.

Before I dive in... big thanks for all the love you shared for my anthropologie video. I truly appreciate the sweet & gentle encouragement. I'm super excited about video.... I've been practicing a lot this past week. I've learnt so much in just a few days.... It's amazing what committing to the process can do.

Before I make the announcement... I'd like to share why I love give aways..... It might not be for the reason you think.

From a marketing point of view, give aways bring traffic to your site. Yep, it's true.......but give away visitors don't necessarily lead to faithful readers. It's no secret...some only comment because they want a chance to win the give away. 

I'm okay with this.... for two reasons....

First I have the most lovely and oh so faithful readers! So grateful.
Second....I love reading all the comments! Oh my goodness..... It fills my heart... BIG!
I love hearing what you are up to, where you are at creatively... what's working, what's not... Things you are excited about, your celebrations.....I love hearing it all!!

I'm considering a new class offering....maybe 2 - one for Elements 11 and one for Photoshop CS6.
Today I'd love to hear what version of Elements &/or Photoshop you are using....

{Weekend Texture} & Give Away Winners Announced

Hello friends,

I'm squeeking in late..... I made myself a promise to quit 'working' by 9:00 each night. I'm running a bit behind this evening...... But it's been a productive day...which is always a good thing.

I just had to share this photo of Ben. I set up my stills in the 'white room'. He's usally in the room with me....and often snoops around as I'm setting up my shot. Lately I've been using a few different white chairs, which are lower...so he can really 'nose' his way into the 'set'. So cute. I've capture him a few times with my iPhone....and my sweet IG friends are always so generous with their Ben love. Anyhow, here's a click with my Nikon.... I'm thinking perhaps this will be a print for my wall.

First, Oh my gosh...I've read every single comment below my Friday Introvert posting. Thank you for sharing so openly. I'm completely fascinated by this subject and hope to continue exploring it. It's really good stuff!

Before I announce the give away winners...I do have a texture to share with you. I call this little gem, Marabella.

I used it on my up-top image.... First I processed it in Lightroom...a simple black and white conversion...then into photoshop where I added today's texture, 'marabella' at soft light 100% opacity.... I love the warmth the texture added.... finally the quote...using a fav font..... Rough Typewriter.

Happiest Sunday.... How's your weekend? Mine seemed to zip by.... in a poof....of work, meal-making, and doggy walking...... 

The suns been shining bright all weekend... such a treat!! Big gratitude.... it's amazing what the sun can do for a person!

My Ben photo was processed in Lightroom....I'm telling you friends... It's magical..... So many possiblities.... More on Lightroom this week.... I'm excited to start sharing some tips with you all.

Anyhow, I processed the raw photo in lightroom...then hit the quick 'edit in photoshop' command... Voila..into photoshop ready for a little extra texture magic...and of course a quote.

Texture Recipe...a layer of today's nested...at multiply 26% opacity... then added the wise words of Einstein.... font used... Rough Typewriter.

{Weekend Texture} Quiet Moments...and a Little Hello

Hello friends,

How are you? I hope your weekend has been lovely.... Mine zipped by rather quickly....but it was nice. We took Bryce out for breakfast yesterday.... He's doing well...his place is very cozy.... He seems pleased with it all...which makes me happy... He has come so far....so nice to see him moving forward... It's heart warming....

Big thanks again for all the loving comments below last Sunday's post..... I'm really good... Honestly I think my biggest struggle was the mixed feelings.... part of me sad...part of me happy....part of me unsure what to feel... It's been such a long road.... But this week has been lovely.... I've seen Bryce twice and we've talked on the phone everyday... Brett and I connect daily for one thing or another.... so the transition hasn't been that difficult....

I also wanted to say...many of you shared that you too are hurting....and I want you to know I'm sorry.... hang in there.... life can be so up and down.... but somehow we find our way.....  little by little day by day.... Big love to each of you....

I have a new texture to share today.... I really like this one..... I used it on my photo above.... but applied a blur filter.... I guess you could say I used it more for the tones than the texture... I love what it did to my photo....

Weekend Texture - Partings

Hello friends, 

I hope this note finds you well...... I'm popping in with a new texture...and just a little teensy bit of rambling....

It's been quite a month...so much going on... Brett moved out, started university...Bryce moved into his own place yesterday.... and I'm sure it will be an ongoing move for about a week... He's only a half hour away. But I've found myself in a bit of an emotional space.... not sure what I'm feeling... You know how it is... mix in that girly hormonal stuff....and let's just say.... from last evening...about 10:00 til I choose the quote for this photo... 10 minutes ago...  I had myself in all kinds of doom and gloom...and man was I grumpy to John. Everything was his fault.....  'sigh'....

But thanks to Marianne Williamson's wise words... I'm seeing the sun.... and it's a GOOD day... We are blessed.... Life is good..... and after I post this up I'm taking Ben to the trail for some fresh air and reflection....

Tell me... how bout you? It seems like days like these seem to just creep up on me... do you find it the same? I'm curious.... what gets you out of your 'blues'? Do tell....

I love hearing your thoughts... You are all so wise.... and I appreciate you so much.

But enough about me and my woes....  it's all good... really it is.....
