textured with waterfront 28 soft light 81% opacity

Today's Uptop Image Recipe

In Camera

I focused on the lovely porcelain spoon. My f/stop was set to f/4. Shot with my nikkor 24-70 lens. (one of my favs for still life)

In Lightroom....

Cropped then Auto-toned .... changed the camera calibration to camera neutral, a slight desaturation and finally a matte finish using the tone curve.

In Photoshop...

I added a layer of waterfront 27 at soft light 38% opacity, masked off the cup and the spoon.

Finished it off with the type.... and that was that.

Your ability to style the scene and edit to perfection never ceases to amaze me. Love this new, on the chair photo - one for the portfolio? Your subtle tweaks to your images really make all the difference. Thanks for talking me through the steps in S2F.

Just gorgeous! Is that the white chair, painted?

Your first image reminds me of what I last posted in Flickr. A clay spoon flu of tea and cup. I love your bowl. (covet).

Both are wonderfully gorgeous, so simple, the top one looks like the spoon is actually sitting on top of the pancake for real. Love the thought process.

I love that saying and I often use it myself because truly, it is joyful when "it's the little things" that bring a moment of happiness. The book looks intriguing and I'll have to check it out. I'm currently loving The Nesting Place. So many wonderful books! Lovely images - thanks so much and have a wonderful week, Kim!
